I went to Target and bought a six dollar pair of long black socks to use as arm warmers. Cut holes in the end for my hands and used them yesterday. They worked out really really well. I highly recommend that rather than throwing down 40 - 50 bucks. Then if you need to get rid of them during the ride, no worries. esmies - 2009-08-31 9:16 AM Just trying to keep that positive attitude going. I realize the forecast will change about 60 times from now until race day. Not trying to poo poo anything and would love that forecast. However, since its taper time, would recommend folks that dont have em pick up some arm warmers in case and maybe at least consider possible cold weather gear you might do the bike and run in. As we get closer to the race obviously we will have a better idea what to expect but just want you folks from warmer climates that are traveling to have it figured out in case we do have cold weather. Supposed to warm up a bit this next week though from the cool temps we are having.Well, just a word of caution, just in case how watchful they are out there, discarding "equipment" on the course could get you a penalty. Don't they have trash bins at the aid stations?? I'm not saying just thow it in the trees as pretty as that would look. |

Member 271 Ontario | Subject: RE: Ironman Wisconsin : Official Thread How are we feeling? Hmmm. I have a torn left Tensor Facia Lada and every time it starts getting better the plantar faciiitis in the right foot starts acting up. I think they're connected. I have a wisdom tooth that needs to be pulled badly it wakes me up every night so I haven't been sleeping...but can't do it before the race, so it's waiting. I swim like a rock, the new rear cassette I put onmy bike doesn't seem any different than the old one and I can't run...but damn! I am PUMPED! Ironman here I come! 16:59 or BUST! |

Great attitude Katherine! I'm not letting this stupid PF keep me from enjoying the race either. I missed a ton of training and I can't walk just yet, but I still think I'll be running on race day, if only on pure adrenaline. We're going to have a great day regardless! |

When I get there on Tuesday and get a look I'll likely have a massive breakdown, but in a good way . And WHERE ARE THOSE NUMBERS??? Jeez. |

Expert 1148 NW Suburbs, Illinois | Subject: RE: Ironman Wisconsin : Official Thread ^^^^ That is funny. FWIW, we didn't get our bib numbers until 9 days out last year. NOrmally, its two weeks, but I think with IMLOU and IMCDA right before us, they run a little late. Should be up soon enough. Katherine/Kristin - Great positive attitudes. FWIW, I know an athlete that only ran 3x the last month b/c of sickness and then getting in a bike accident (both times ended up in hospital). She was able to throw down a sub 3:40 mary PR at IM LOU. So, stay positive! |
