I'm still alive, though sometimes I'm not so sure, right now I have a constant cough and all kinds of blood whenever I blow my nose. I'm walking tonight I might not log it though it's just so I don't lose too much. I may need antibiotics but I HATE going to the Doctor's, I get this every 2-3 years it'll go away eventually. But I do need to get back to running and soon.

How does everyone else run when they have a bad cough?

George.

tripletmom01 - 2009-02-03 5:54 AM So if you have not posted your Feb goals- lets see them!!

Hi Gang!!!
Sorry I haven't been around much... I HATE This time of year... busy busy busy....
My Jan kind of sucked...
And Feb is not looking so good now either...

Feb Goals:
Ski 4.5 days (one day already down tomorrow due to work)
Strength = 3 sessions
Swim = 6K yds
Bike = 4 trnr sessions
Run = 16mi

I know seems too easy... but life just ain't that way right now...
Already due to office drama I will need to do a brick on Th to try and catch up.  Hopefully that will happen.  Wish me luck.

I figured I would re-post my goals here. I posted them a little over a week ago, but I figured I'd make sure mine were with everyone elses.

February goals. 4 weeks, no extra days.

Bicycle. - 180-240 minutes a week = 720-960 minutes for the month of February. 12-16 hours for the month.

Run - 90-180 min/wk = 360-720 minutes for the month. 6-12 hours running.

Swimming - get in what I can without a pool membership anywhere.

Weights. get in what I can, more toning, start the 100 situps routine.

Last but not least, find a job.

February Goals:

  • Get to the pool 2x/week, minimum 2,000 yards per session
  • Bike 3x/week, minimum ride 1 hour
  • Get off the TM and run outside at some point this month
  • Run 3x/week?  (depends on what the coach says)
  • Strength training at least 2x/week
  • Execute all planned training to the best of my ability considering what is going on
  • Register for all races by the end of the month-2 down, 2 to go

Did OK in January other than swimming.  I hate pool swimming, give me a lake, a wetsuit, warm weather, and some sunshine!

Got 1.5 miles in tonight, maybe a little sweat will cure me

Bumped up the humidifer setting should help the nose. We'll see tomorrow though I'm coughing quite a bit tonight.

I always train with a cold... you can usually cough a good bit out after a run

Must be that time of the year, I'm feeling under the weather too. I caught it from my girls. I took them to the dr today with ear infections and upper respitory infections. Ouch...so needless to say I'm ready to pull my hair out!...but feeling so bad for them. anyway now that I got that off my chest and looking at the bright side (I forgot to mention they won't nap any more) I will have more flexiblity in my schedule to make it to the pool during lap hours and more spin classes...anyone else dying for the spring?

Hell yeh!

We've had an unusual weather front from the east which has left us crisp and dry for the past 2 days - we had beautiful sunshine today - just reminded us all that we're currently in the wrong season!!Cool

ONLY 6 weeks to go, then it's "bring on the slop of spring". I have two dogs, so I loathe spring.

Where is everyone?  The weather is very spring-like around here--high of 50+ today.

Running outside tomorrow!  Is it really possible to stay in zone 1 while running?

How is the movie star doing today?  Can't wait to get a copy of the DVD!

Okay, so this question might be a little aside from our purpose here... however,

I made an agreement with SIL that if she came out here I would walk the SLC 1/2 Mary with her...

I've never gone more than 5 mi in one shot (probably more than that in a day, but you know what I mean)... I've never ran more than 4mi in one shot (not that it makes a difference b/c I will be walking and not running)

I'm concerned b/c I'd prefer to increase my running/jogging pace and distance... but I'm wondering if I should spend some time walking too.  With my background in ex and phys I know that walking uses slightly different muscle groups than jogging/running (I'm most worried about my hip flexors and tibialis anterior).  I suppose I've just answered my own question that I was going to pose...

Perhaps there's someone else here that's encountered a similiar scenario?

I'm thinking that perhaps I could integrate training by doing some intervals (though be it long intervals) ie... 2:1 run/walk?

Any thoughts/comments/objections????

I find it completely impossible.  I am always at the very end of my Z2 for my LSD.  But it seems to b working.   I ran thru the "lakes" yesterday.  Today is just as sunny but a bit colder, so not as much water on the sidewalks and roads.  I had a great tempo run today.
