I was supposed to get up early and get that workout done before work. Almost. Not quite. Oh well. Did get a little yoga in before schlepping in.

And as happens frequently, someone scheduled a meeting to last after the work day ends. (We get half a day on Fridays because we work 9 hours Monday-Thursday. Again, another ploy to wring more out of the worker bees and not have to pay them because who really can only work half a day on Fridays?)

Can you tell I'm not so thrilled with my job?

Got in my 4.13 miles today, an easy run with a little fartlek thrown in. Tried to log into the spreadsheets and somethings off... probably just a temporary glitch.

I found the spreadsheet in the trash folder, so I undeleted it.

I need a new pair of shoes so I can use my current ones in the rain!  I would probably be better off with a boat to get around outside right now though :-)

Artemis - 2009-10-08 10:27 PM Is anyone on the team racing this weekend?

No.    I was supposed to run the Hartford Half Marathon tomorrow but then we moved and I missed a bunch of training.  Soooo, no race for me.  Really bummed out cause it was my first half marathon and I really wanted to return and crush the course.  Now I have to wait another year.

That sucks.  I'm sorry.

Yup. Sprint tri in Hattiesburg. Assuming the storminess doesn't cause problems.

Hope you have a great race!!

Nice run this morning. Finally got the HR monitor out again, and did my timed aerobic run. 6.9mi. Definitely smelling and feeling like autumn. Beat the rain that was coming, so that was a bonus.

LOL--I first read "Definitely smelly and feeling like autumn." I mean, that would be me after a 7-mile run

Nice job on the run!

I love running in autumn.  The air is crisp and cool.  I love when there are a few leaves on the ground and you get to run through them.  Everything about it is wonderful.  I'm really missing that right now.

I did manage to walk a little - about 5 minutes total.  I'm going to try to walk some more this afternoon.  I'm really hoping it goes well.  I'd love to go to the farmer's market tomorrow morning.

x2! Have fun and race hard!

Tonight I've got to run the eight miles that work kept me from doing last night.

I am a little ahead on my goal compared to the month because I will be attending a conference in Boston from the 26-30th of the month.  I could possibly be commuting up there which would mean 5 am - 7 pm daily devoted to non-training.  I didn't schedule myself anything in terms of running that week so any miles that get done will be a bonus.  That is why my spreadsheet looks the way it does.

Thanks!

I have two recipes.  The one I made today is rather calorie dense.  My daughter is an XC runner and has trouble maintaining her weight  so I went for the high fat version which is here.

I have also made this one from Cooking Light many times and it is also delicious.  I love these kinds of quick breads in the fall.
