How common is it to change into running shorts for the run? I have not done any long runs with tri shorts, so I'm going to do it tomorrow and see how it goes.

There's plenty of people who'll make a complete change in T1, T2 or both. I did both in 2010 and nobody laughed...they did kindly ask me to leave the womans tent.

I ended up getting a room at the Springhill Suites.  Can anyone from the area tell me how far from the transition area it is?  I'm traveling alone with no SHERPA help so im hoping it's not too far back to the Springhill Suites?

Ironman posted on facebook that the race is officially sold out! Seems to be a bit earlier than in other years. I can't believe it's four weeks out.

Oh. I stand corrected. I thought I had read it was usually the last couple of weeks if at all.

Thanks for posting these links.  I watched the first one and damn, it was good.  When he talked about Race Execution - he was telling my story.  I showed up to Lake Placid fully confident in my training, and I totally neglected 'Race Day Execution'.  Also good to know that right on the other side of the railroad tracks is a giant pot hole!  Also going to swim a bit further out into the middle of the river at the turn-around to catch more current.  I'm surprised that video only has 200-something views.  I've heard good and bad about Endurance Nation; but in that first video alone he nails so many things square on the head.

Almost time to start tapering.  I have the Covington Century ride this weekend which I'll use to help tweek my hydration and nutrition and then one more week of hard training.  That'll leave me with 2 weeks to taper and hopefully peak in time for Louisville.  Do you guys have any last minute races or training scheduled?

I will also be at the Covington Century, doing my first 100 mile ride.  After this weekend, I get to start tapering!  After 3 weeks of 19 plus hours of training I am beat.

Cincyman, make sure you look for me and say Hi again.

I'm dying to get my race number...geez. IMLP had theirs 5 weeks out!

Shoulder is doing better, I swam 1000m slowly yesterday, in a speed suit to try it out.  Tomorrow I get to retry masters but only half practice, then I have a 2 mile open water swim on Sunday.  WOOT!

5th and last century of the summer coming up with weekend. I don't know about you all, but I"m getting tired of cleaning my water bottles, putting powder into baggies, and doing laundry constantly!

Woot-Woot!  It looks like there are still Ironman Foundation slots available.  Maybe that is why we haven't gotten the numbers yet?  Good luck with the swimming. Hopefully the injury will be fully healed before Louisville

Hey Krazytallchick!  This will be your first century?  You picked a good time to see what its like to go that distance, especially with the heat!  I've never done this course before so I can't tell you what it is like. Looks like we will both find out come Saturday!  If I see you at the start, I'll be sure to say hello.  Are you and your husband doing the "board" again or was that just for the Braselton ride?

Is anyone doing the Welcome Dinner Banquet.  If so does anyone know what is on the menu for the event.  I will have my wife and kids with me and wonder how long it last and if there is anything to keep an 11 and 9 year old attention.
