Do you mind if I post a TriTalk question?

Why is it that hammering the power on one of those fancy spin bikes up to 300 watts for an entire hour results in a shorter total distance than the girl next to me who had a lower RPM and lower wattage the whole time?  Shouldn't more power equal more distance?

Assuming that the two bikes are both calibrated correctly, yes... but that's not always the case.

I guess it's fair though.  Afterall, moving 225 lbs requires more power than moving 115 lbs.

But you fail with your post because you didn't call me stupid and tell me to practice flip turns...

power = work/time

work = force x distance

force = mass x acceleration

power = mass x accel. x distance / time

more power = more distance only at equal mass and time.

Did anyone see that TV show "Take It All" last night? It is a game show based off that same Holiday party

Morning TAN,

I'm quite thankful that I'm not dead and that my head has mostly stopped hurting.  I'm now dealing with the drug hangover which is a HECK of a lot better than having a hurty head.  Enough coffee should cure the hangover, right?

I also finished Christmas shopping this morning!

(now keeping fingers firmly crossed that everything arrives before the 25th)

We should have a virtual holiday swap.

Sounds like a good idea.  I pick whatever Meh brings because it's sure to be the best.

Meh will end up with the worst thing which will probably be what I bring...

It's the way of the world.

EVERYBODY STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING - I HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT!

(cannonball!)

My evil, micro-managing, brown-nosing, little bee-yotch of a boss was promoted (surprise, surprise) - which means he is out of my hair and an awesome co-worker was promoted to manager our group.

I KNEW all I had to do was wait this thing out.... bam.

Congrats!

Now pray that your awesome co-worker doesn't turn into the used-to-be-awesome-coworker-that-I-cannot-stand-as-a-boss

Yep, I bring happiness and joy to all around me

We were all actually just sitting-around waiting for some good news.  So no need for the Bold/largefont/all caps.

Like in the Anchorman when Ron says "NEWS TEAM ASSEMBLE!" and the news team says "We've been here the whole time you've been here Ron..."

Oh, and congrats.  It's great when that happens.

Like whats-his-face said Samyg said, I hope your friend doesn't turn all Douchy once he/she gets power.
