Registered for the Escape from Alcatraz lottery, and the inaugural "A Christmas Story Run" 10k.

The finisher medal alone dictates that I MUST do the run:
http://www.achristmasstoryhouse.com/index.php/30th-anniversary-events/5k10k-run/

Add in that I actually have a real Leg Lamp in my front window year-round and there is no way that I COULDN'T register for this.

Apparently, management thinks it's a brilliant idea to call us in at 3:30 on a Friday to tell us all we need to come in on Saturday at 7am. Not a happy camper.

Good luck in the lottery.  That's a GREAT race.

I have been pretty lucky.  I think maybe if you did it in the past, you might get a better chance?

I didn't get in the first year but I did in the second.  Then got in every year since but decided to not do it.

I'll take it!  I only SORT OF want you to die now.  How about just injured enough to not ride anymore?

61 tt bike or 63 road - all good.

Have fun.

. Heh. Now I'll have to watch out on the route to see if you secretly came up here to jump out at me on one of the hills to make me crash!

You are the first I have seen to ride something other than a small bike.  I didn't think Kido was tall enough for a 61cm bike.

. Thanks! Kido be taller than I from what I've heard.

Kido must be tall to need a 63cm road bike.   I am 6'3" and use a 61cm road bike.

But, you are not alone.  Been awake since 3:00 for Saturday work.  But, I am the management that scheduled the work.  I also give my people at least 48 hours notice of Saturday work.  They have now been notified that it may be needed through the end of November.

I'm just bitter because of the 16 hours of notice... and that I hate my job Oh, and that I did basically nothing yesterday because I still don't have electronic access to a lot of the things that need to be worked on...

I'm certainly not going to mind the extra $$ on the paycheck.

I.am.exhuasted... 340 mikes; 5 days of off-road riding. Never had a harder challenge nor had as much fun on the bike. Back to back metrics, a full century, then 2 more metrics. Pittsburgh to Washington, DC. Amazing history and scenery as well as great riding.

Nice work, Dave!  The pics looked awesome, too.

Good morning, TAN!

I'm all tired and achy today after my 70.3

Met my two main goals for the race, which was to simply execute better than I did in my first HIM, and secondly to hit 5:30:xx

I executed WAAAAY better than my first one, and while my time was actually 5:33:xx, I call that a win given that the swim was moved to the Bay side so we had a .6 mile run to transition.... I think that makes up for the 3 minutes

Super tired, but super happy

Oh. My. Gawd. Yes.

I had a disc cover on with a 90 front, and even with as big as I am, I was getting knocked around all over the place, especially in those last 5 miles coming up the causeway.  It was pretty brutal.

and Congrats FillUp!!!!!!

Training our bodies to work efficiently in Zone 2 will help us keep our HR and pace even throughout an Ironman. This theory would hold true for the bike and run portion of an Ironman race.
