I guess everyone's an early riser to train, cause whenever I get in here -- everyone is just going to bed!  HAHA

Well, over 88% of my goal for the month completed.   Should finish my Run goal by Monday.   Might even get my bike goal done Monday as well, cause it's a holiday and I've got time for a good brick.

Only need about 3500 more yards in the water and I'm good there as well!  Whoo Hoo!

No east coaster gonna beat this kid......

I thought I'd do my part to put the East Coasters in their place.

Nanna nanna boo boo, East Coast.

It is nice to see that you still have some DREAMS and ASPIRATIONS.  No matter how illogical and improbable they are.

RunningJayhawk - 2008-05-23 12:26 AM hahaa... so I laid down at 5:50 with the intention of closing my eyes for 10 minutes before leaving for the workout... My husband called and woke me up... ...at... ...8:30. Oops. Think I needed that nap? I'll try and make up the speed work sometime soon.

Barb, sounds like you needed it.  Hope it was restful!

Hi middlers!

got in a short swim, and an even shorter run today - but hey it was something, right?

I did manage to make 100 enchiladas for DD's graduation party on saturday - does that count for anything?

Ooooohhh... I'm glad I'm not there. That would be tooooo tempting. It came down to beer or Mexican food as the vice to cut out so I could drop pounds during my Oly training. Mexican food it was. I just couldn't give up my pale ales and Turbodog. It's almost the end of May and I haven't had any fried food, dark liquors, mexican food, or candy bars.

The second I finish my Oly I am heading straight to the tuckced away place on the water where they make the BEST double bacon cheesburgers and I'm getting a dozen chicken wings on the side.

wow - I'm impressed - I don't know if I could give up Mexican food

I crack up about my enchiladas - it's the recipie off of the back of the can of enchilada sauce (And I just add 1 cup of Pixie Dust)- but my kids and their friends LOVE them - lol

I've been told, that they are not eating at the other graduation parties that day - cuz they are waiting for the enchiladas

LOL

Sorry...if you were on my team I wouldn't have given away your secret ingredient

Hey Orange, as far as shaving goes it's easier to ask for forgivness than permission.

I'm taking a mini vacation this weekend, but I hope to get a couple runs in to boost my numbers. I don't know if I'll make my swim numbers for the month. I'm going fishing, maybe I can swim in. :-)

Have a great weekend!

Well team, we pulled back ahead of East - 69.9% to their 66.9%.

I'm at 79% swim, 110% on bike (873 min, 14.5 hrs, 200 miles) and 71% on run (can you tell I'm a numbers guy? ).

Have a great Memorial Day weekend everyone!  We're doing a bike ride with a few other families tomorrow, then a church picnic on Monday...

Thanks to all the veterans and their families, and those that are serving in the military!

I'm trying to do my part here in rainy Indiana.  I have an 1:20 bike ride scheduled with a short run tacked on the end.  Looks like I'll be making friends with the trainer and maybe running in the rain.  I think I'm going to watch Goonies while I spin.  Goonies never say die!

The thunderstorm at lunch today was replaced by 88 degree heat index and wicked humidity.  I was born and rasied here, but I felt like I was running with a wet quilt around me.  I'm a heavy sweatter.  Tough run.  Didn't do the 77 minutes, but got 55.  Will save 18 of those for the tri on Monday then add the other 4 to a run next week.  One short ab workout and I'm "paroled" from training until the tril on Monday!

I'd love some 88 degree heat and humidity! This cold front has GOT.TO.GO.

Blah.

At least we're getting into the 60's today.

OK, I'm all updated in the spreadsheet for the week. I only got in one brick this week and no races

Next week I have a biathlon the very last day of the challenge. Hope to get another brick in next week, too.

Hope everyone has a great weekend, and GO CENTRAL!!

Spreadsheet all updated for me too.

Orange -- go for it -- break out the razor or nair -- you'll be glad you did......

As for me -- did my share of hot running yesterday.   Hot and muggy enough that I only did 3 miles of a planned 5 miles.  I'm such a wimp -- I coulda toughed it out a couple more miles......

Temp was only about 80 -- but the dewpoint and humidity was in the 80's as well -- Felt like I was in a steambath!

22 more bike miles, 2 more run miles, and 3500 yards in the water -- CAKE!

Might even race on Saturday!

Thanks UTTriman.  I'll defer 'till later this week.  I have to stop by my 81 year old step mom's house (dad passed away last Dec.) and seal a wood fence with Thompsons after the sprint tri tomorrow morning.  I'd hate to try to explain to her why may legs are silky smooth...  Our 11 year old leaves on Tuesday morning for a 4-day class trip, so it'll be easier to try later this week.  I did snag some Nair for Men yesterday though!

Finally warm weather! We were in the 70's today.

I did a pretty intense yoga session earlier this afternoon and tonight we're headed to the pool to crank out 2ish miles. Ugh...

Tomorrow is the long ride/brick.
