serendipity - 2009-10-21 12:45 PM I was at the gym, so I knocked out 2 more miles warming up for my strength training.  AND I paid my bills before I went to the gym.  On time and everything.

good job! glad you found the time between running and this chat! does that mean you are volunteering to be next to do the team summary?? I think we need not a weekly one but hourly!

Perhaps whoever gets toppage needs to provide a summary of the previous page.  Any takers??  Huh? Huh?

NOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

skrtrnr - 2009-10-22 7:22 AM alright GHOULIES.

im thinking im caught up (for now...)

im doing laundry now, but heading to the Y in a few.

i have a swim and run on tap.

46 min swim/5 mile run.

im hoping to get in a 1 mile continuous swim + 800-1000 yds xtra.  we'll see how the legs are feeling in the water....then the 5 miler.

i was gonna make this my 45 min tempo, but again, my legs arent feeling 100%.

if i cant get to the speedwork, no biggie.  its the distance im most concerned about.

i may split the run up 2.5 miles, swim, then 2.5 miles.

we'll see how things 'loosen up' this morning.

rest day tomorrow, and then meeting up w a group of people to run The Spirit course on Saturday bright and early.

coming down to the wire.

UBER EXCITED!

RUN HAPPY GHOULIES!

Sounds like a plan!  Hope the legs loosen up for you!

if that knee is better...then knock that probably out of the sentence above and get out and run for us! if it is not feeling well..then you just prop that baby up on your new couch or sofa!!! and watch tv!

hope its better!!!

Rain here too.  I might get to try out my new running rain gear today!

Wow, a sofa and love seat is some pretty grown up furniture.  I hope you picked out something that won't clash with your bike (because we all have our bikes in the house at some point, don't we?).

haha..I like the way you think!!

kromanowski - 2009-10-22 8:05 AM Morning everyone!  Plan is to give the foot one more day (although if it is feeling good tonight I might try to get a run in when I get home)  I am not going to try to push to do the 4 miles I had planned I just want to run and see how it feels.  No worries though I am 46/60 miles right now so as long as I can get this feeling better and get one or two more good runs in I should be able to get to 100%

I vote for rest.  We want you healthy!

stacieb

Fantastic!  It's warm and sunny here too (it was supposed to be cool and rainy).  Might sub a ride for a swim myself

you mean sub it for a run...right! this is a run challenge, mister, may I remind you!!!

but if you must ride or swim...then...by all means you do so. but I do really think you meant to say run...right???

 RUN NEAL...RUN....RUN!!!

Oh yeah.  Run.  Of course I meant sub it for a run.

Of course I didn't do either today.  Not sure what the dealio is with the knee but rest seemed prudent.

soooo you tooo having issues!!! what is up??? hoping it is allllllllllllllllllllllllllll betta now!? I had such knee issues last summer...I truly thought my tri days were numbered! are you stretching before and after all those runs and other exercises!?? I am a firm believer! and foam rollers are HIGH on my list! ROLL NEAL ROLL!

Not sure.  It seems fine today though so that's a bonus!

serendipity - 2009-10-21 2:43 PM There is no way to keep up with this thread and run too.

You need one of those fancy phones so you can get on the internet to read and run at the same time

I have a phone like that, but I can't imagine trying to run and read at the same time.  I almost fell off the treadmill today trying to increase the volume on my iPod.

that is one reason I do not run on one! be careful!

I recommend slacking off whenever possible.

Except when it comes to running.  No running slackers!!!!!

Sounds good to me. Can I get that on letterhead and sent to my boss? I'll pay postage...

Sure...

Dear Tom's boss,

All this work stuff  is adding to Tom's stress and cutting into valuable training time.  He should be given the opportunity to work half days whenever possible.  (At full pay, of course.)

I understand that Tom's reduced hours may put some additional burden on you.  You should try yoga.  It really helps you relax.

Sincerely,
Your friendly neighborhood slacking off expert

can I be next...can I can I???????

Got mine yesterday.  Arm is a little sore, but no "yucky-ness" here.

I wasn't feeling to well as the afternoon progressed...nothing to serious, just more or less exhausted, a bit feverish and little headache...took some advil and it went away though! Yaaaa! Well the feverishness and headache...and the pain when I move my right arm...I heart advil...

Did a little run. Just nice and easy to get my mileage up!!! Now im over 60kms!!! YAAAAAA!!! I`m gonna get over 100km!!!!

hopefully all those viruses you are studying did not get to you!!! take care and feel better! I also HEART advil...I think I own stock in it...and if I dont...I should as much as I buy!

iowagander - 2009-10-21 5:11 PM Wow... I've got some catching up to do. In the meantime, I'll report that I got my 5k done today in 22:06 - PR by 1:50! (granted I've been gradually improving my then-non-existant fitness since the last time, but still...)

I'm off to go meet with the kids' principal. At least it's not for anything bad this time. I'll check back with you all later. GO GHOULIES!!!
