I'm grateful that the shop listened to my interest in the bike and ordered the size and color I wanted on a hunch otherwise I'd be waiting for '11's to come in or riding a black or blue Ordu.

Hey, what's wrong with blue bikes?

Just booked my flight to Panama City. Last year we drove to the race. Flying the bike and gear will probably cost more than my plane ticket!

Catwomen- checkout TRIBIKE Transport - www.tribiketransport.com it may be more economical. Cost is about $260.00 round trip. No hassel at all you do not have to dismantle the bike or crate it. There was no damage to the bike at all. You drop it off at a local bike shop. They pick it up there. They are at the race site so just have to pick it up day b4 the race  and drop it off after the race when finished. They return it to your local bike shop and you take it from there.  I used it from Southern Calif. to Louisville  and I'm using it from Southern Calif to Florida. Great service.

SWA flies to PCB starting this month and only charges $50 each way to bring a bike.

When I travel to race I consider locations that SWA flies to as I don't want to be hit with $175 each way fees some airlines charge for bikes.

It's a shame they don't serve enough locations.  I've never been able to use them.

Stress Fracture; DAMNIT!Yell

Listen to your body, gang.  And take the advice throughout these forums when they say "Do not increase your distance or workout repetition too fast"....

I was doing pretty good. Running was going well (in VFF).  Was up to 10 miles on a run, but had spaced my runs out with 3-4 days between.  This past weekend, I got froggy and did 3 back-to-back workouts.  On the third day, I made it about 3miles into the run when the sharp pain started in my foot.  Had to do the limp of shame back to my home.  Diagnosed the next day as a stress fracture of a metatarsul.  Now I'm on crutches for up to two weeks (can't put weight on my foot) and no running for who knows how long.  Definately concerned that I've gone and screwed up my IMFL plans because I couldn't stop and rest a day....
This is where having a good workout plan AND FOLLOWING THE PLAN, would help.  Don't get ahead of yourself. Take those rest days, even if you feel good.  Your body needs the repair time.

Oh no. Sorry to hear this. We're still 6 months out so there's still plenty of time to get recover and get good training in.

Good luck with the recovery... and take it easy!!!

Aqua jogging???  Can you still bike and swim?  If so, think of it as a time to get really solid in those 2 disciplines... You have a lot of time yet...don't stress!  (pun NOT intended).

Well, just make sure you don't make the same mistake twice...don't hurry THIS recovery just to train for IMFL.  You are better off being completely healed and undertrained than never fully healing....

Bling Bling! Deal of the century on the 808's! Brand new never ridden 2010 clinchers with skewers tubes and valve extenders out the door with tax for under $1900. Apparently I chose a great time to call the bike store today because they just decided to stop selling Zipps and go with Edge wheels. So they slashed the prices. They may get sold after IMFL, cause lets face it they're still not cheap, but until then I'm going to enjoy every mile on them.

Bicycle Sport Shop the central Austin location, I got the two wheels off the display rack so I dunno if they have any more left. You may want to try giving the north Austin location a call if they're both dropping Zipp from their inventory.

Glad everyone likes the new shoes, took them out for the first time today and really felt the difference over the R500's that were previously on the bike. The wind gusts are a bit more noticible, but I can definitely feel the ride quality difference.

I'm picking up my Ordu tomorrow after having a fitting, figuring out which seatpost (74/76 vs. 78/80 and T1 Vipers vs. Carbon Strykes) and aerobars I want. I hear the Zipp 404s are on it already.

I'll post some pictures once we get back home.

Plus I have my longest swim of 2010 thus far before I get my bike...little bit of work before the fun.

Besides getting this awesome bike I found out I have Lyme's which brings many unknowns. I have to drop down to less training only 1 workout a day and all easy zone 2 stuff for now. I'll miss some races in the next month or so.

I hope I can kick this thing quickly and get back to normal.
