Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Morning Crushers!! I had another Coke free day yesterday... so that's 3... DON'T READ BELOW IF SENSITIVE OR EATING I have a run scheduled for today, but the skin on my feet is falling apart. Oh, it's sooo gross. I took a picture and won't post it on this thread because some people will definitely get upset. I was thinking of posting it with a warning in the injury thread... but still fear trouble from mods. Not sure what the rules are. Here's the problem - I get the blisters, as previously discussed. The friction that causes them usually moves in one direction which releases a couple layers of skin and pushes it to the side of the irritated area - think a big irritated circle with a little extra skin pushed over. Sometimes there is so much pulling that the non skin build up side rips... OUCH and gross. I have the worst one I've had so far, from only a 4km run, but might have been started during my recent 10km. There's quite a bit or raw skin exposed and I'm concerned about my next run - supposed to be today! And I have another 10km on the weekend. Does anyone else have super soft skin? I think that's my problem. I beat my feet up over and over but the skin just never toughens up. Oh - and I use body glide too! It works wonders at not letting the blisters bubble up and normally keeps the area from tearing. Some people have suggested new socks, but I wonder if it will help me. I will have to try because I don't want to stop running! |

Sorry about my absence. It's the new job. I was off today and intended on getting some posting in earlier but my wireless internet stopped working all day. Here I am catching up! I got a run in today and almost went Coke free. I went alllll day until dinner when I had a Pepsi... that's not Coke, so it's a Coke free day? Noo... I'm just kidding. I'm weak. ![]() How is that new job going? The new job is going great! Still feel like I have a lot to re-learn and new learning to do. This place has all real patients and those patients who are not pulling their weight in their recovery are discharged. The place I used to work at was 95% fakes who were there to try to get money from their supposed injuries. My old boses were there to treat these people like queens and kings to keep them coming in so they could keep billing... No wonder I ran away to do a teaching degree! My new location makes me want to stay in the field. ![]() |

I finally finished my scarf! Not without excitement though... I was watching a you tube video on how to cast off and the way it was demonstrated caused me to do the final stitch wrong - which means no knot and scarf starts to unravel! I'm so happy this thing is finally done. Oh, and yesterday was Coke free! ![]() Is that 2 coke free days now? Great! 3 now! Really bad... I had no idea just how frequently I consumed this crap. I didn't think that 10 days would be so hard. It's not even large quantity either - I normally have about a can's worth. Give it up completely and you'll be amazed how much better you feel. I know, that's a lot to ask, but I promise it's worth it. That's the plan, but I want to maintain it and for me that means I should stagger the process. I am thinking 10 Coke free this month, 15 next month... and so on. |

This is probably due to doing two major things today. Do I need to sleep, or have Pop Tarts? Oh, of COURSE. Pop Tarts, then sleep. Sleep?? What is this sleep you people talk of?? We must not have that in college ![]() LOL... I often wonder what the heck happened to me. I survived college with NO sleep. And then I got old? Or can I just blame the kids? I slept on the floor in the library sometimes. One year I had a schedule of 8am-7pm with holes in the middle and I was a commuter. On the floor in a public place? Really? I've slept at a desk or table at the library but never the floor. Can't even image that. Too dirty. Oh I know, but desperation changes people's opinions. I was always exhausted. It's just clothes and I chose a low traffic area. Oh, and backpack pillow to keep my face off the ground and deter theives. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I ended up having a dinner and movie night with my roomies last night. We watched How to train your dragon which was really good. Then I got some decorating for Christmas done. Tonight's going to end up being laundry/cleaning/decorating night with some breaks to fit in some strength stuff. Tomorrow I should make it to the pool and get a run in. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Finally got some exercise in yesterday!!! When I was done, I calculated that due to my recent laziness I now have to jump rope for 5 minutes EVERY day for the rest of the month to meet my goal. Which would be ok if I didn't trip over the darn thing every 5 jumps! |
