That's why we set up our tailgate right there on the run course. We had one guy who watched about 10 minutes of the game (eating pizza rolls) with us before continuing his second loop.I can't believe for the second time in three years I am going to miss that game in Tiger Stadium.

Expert 1148 Santa Fe, New Mexico | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida : Official Thread Nine Weeks out. Now it's getting serious. Deciding which workouts are Key are more tricky. This week is swim heavy according to my plan, and because I'm a reasonable swimmer, I've been slacking a bit in getting to the pool. Time to stop that. But the run is my nemesis, so today I chose a uber long run over the pool. Suppose I'll have to be be sure to do the swims scheduled on Saturday and Sunday. I count 56 days till IMFL! Already had two dreams about not showing up on time. And one where my rear brake handle fell off the bike. On the plus side, I ran 18 miles this morning, and aside from not being able to stand on my feet or walk, I seem to be suffering no ill effects of the run. I suppose it's about time to find a condo and a car too. |

I know right where you were set up. I remember seeing it on the TV as I passed by. |

Expert 1164 Roswell, GA | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida : Official Thread Alright guys. We are 2 months out from the big day. Time to put on your game face for the last long big push! I've got a training camp in PCB next weekend (Sept 14-16) so I will make sure to provide a full recon report of the area. I'll pretty much be doing the whole 140 miles that weekend so if you have any particular questions on the course/weather/what to expect, let me know and I will find out |

I did a 10K in 2010 as the end of my long run. Maybe you want to incorporate the sprint into a longer training session? The 1/2 IM will make a good training day for sure. Intensity. |

Extreme Veteran 688 | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida : Official Thread I am pretty happy. I thought my stress reaction in my femur was returning last week. I took it easy the end of last week and the beginning of this week (running wise). I took 3 days off in a row from running. I usually run 6x/week. I also went to my PT that said my pelvis was all out of alighnment. He fixed this. And I was able to run Thursday (4 miles), Friday (1 mile), and today (8 miles). No issues what so ever! I guess I needed more than a week of recovery after my HIM (8/19/12). Since I am running less this week I hit the swim (4 hrs) and bike (13 hrs). I feel really good compared to the beginning of the week. I will plan on running 20-25 mile range next week and see how my leg does. I was originally going to cap out at 45-50 mpw running but now I think I will limit this to 35 mpw. This could be a "blessing" because maybe I will be more fresh that I would if I did 45-50 mpw. We will see. But I feel pretty confident that if I can sustain my swim/bike and build my run to the 35 mpw (with a one long run in the 16-18 miles) I will be pretty good. |

Veteran 867 Vicksburg | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida : Official Thread How was the training weekend. Mine was good. I knocked off my first century since IMLP last year and followed it up with a nice brick run. This AM I knocked off a good 17.5 mile run. Only eight weeks out, we are almost there. |

Expert 1170 Berkley, MI | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida : Official Thread Now that I am through with my wedding week, and my 2nd HIM of the season, I am ready for the big push to IM FL! My training plan has had me running very few miles until now (longest run was 8 miles this ENTIRE plan since January) so I am a little worried, but what happens happens. I have had two HIMs in there so I got up to 13 miles twice so far... now I just need to keep on going up up up! The plus side is that I am stronger now than before I started training, my run times are improving probably because of all the cycling and swimming I am doing is improving my overall endurance and cardio fitness (my HR is much lower now than when I started) and I have lost about 50 lbs since I started training for Ironman! I am totally injury and pain free, which is the first time in years. All I can do is execute the plan per my coach and have faith! She knows my worry about the run, and after yesterday's HIM at Cedar Point, where I executed the race perfectly, I am dead set to have my nose to the grindstone from here on out. 8 weeks away! |

Regular 173 | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida : Official Thread I did my first HIM yesterday per my Don Fink plan. Pumpkinman was awesome! If anyone's in Maine at the right time next year, I highly recommend it! I didn't hit my goal of 6:40, but I did 6:58:51 (and happy with sub-7:00!) and I didn't walk except the aid stations and one minute for a stitch. I'm really hoping I can do better at IMFL though. Putting my head back down and focusing now...which will be simpler soon. Training will now become my life again. |

Expert 1164 Roswell, GA | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida : Official Thread Biggest thing this weekend was 80 miles on Sunday. Held it for a 20mph average while staying in my zones, so I feel pretty confident about a sub 5:30 bike in FL. |
