I have a slight mental hang-up about them for some reason. Not the needle, just the idea of it. 

Stop shooting up then.  Problem solved.

i am high risk for flu (severe asthma) and have HAD the flu (severe misery) but i hate hate hate hate needles.

however, i have a friend starting chemo on wed going through late january.  in addition, my sister is having a baby in january.  and neil's best friend's wife is pregnant with twins due in february.

so i sucked it up and got the shot for those guys.  it's my first flu season where i can be infecting people that can't protect themselves...

I'm good.  Job is good.  Things are good.  But recently got a bit weird.

I'm being courted by a company that could potentially increase my salary by close to 100%.  Don't have an exact salary range yet, but it would basically be me running and entire lab. 

I haven't been actually in a lab for about 3 years and haven't really worried about actual operational issues in a laboratory for quite a while (10+ years).  But a very good friend of mine who is a VP in that company recommended me (first person he thought of), I've had a phone interview with the president, sent him my resume and am now going for a face to face interview tomorrow.

Part of me is excited as hell about it and another part of me is scared whitless about it.  HUGE responsibility.  The way the company works is that the managing director of the lab is essentially the president of a small company (~40 employees) and has quite a bit of autonomy.  They would be looking to me to build one of the business divisions in that lab. 

Top it off, I've only been in my current position for about 15 months and basically work for a good friend (we have known each other for about 12 years).  Now, I'm not a solid lock in the other job, hell, who know what will happen tommorrow.  He may not think I have enough experience (which frankly I'm questioning myself). 

So all in all, I'm a bit anxious and confused and torn. 

Well if they don't say thanks, I'll do it for them. Thank you for putting your fear of needles aside for the well-being of people you love!

And good points. I have a co-worker who will probably be coming back from (2nd round of) cancer treatments soon. I should think about that...... 

if i ever have kids, my husband will have to be on shot duty, cause i am such a BABY about it.  i even got the new "little" flu shot today and was doing huffing and puffing breathing, gripping the arm of the chair till my knuckles were white.  i'm terrible at needles.  they don't even hurt.  i really don't know what it is...

I am not afraid of needles, but I do not like to watch them give me the shot or see the needle going into my arm.

i won't even stay in the room when my dog gets his vaccines. 

Needles don't bother me at all so because of that I was the one that had to take my boy to all of his blood tests when he anemic. Needles I'm good but trying to calm a baby that is getting 3-4 blood tests a week really sucks.

I prefer to watch them go in. I like knowing exactly when and where it's going to hurt.

I can watch my dog gets shots because I'm pretty sure he doesn't even feel it. Last time he got a vacciene, his tail didn't even stop wagging during the injection.

We had a fun mellow weekend. We spent most of the weekend painting my girls room. I got the ceiling and walls painted with the new ceiling fan installed. Today I just have to paint the trim and I'm done.
