Champion 7163 Verona WI--Ironman Bike Country! | Subject: RE: SWBKRUN Mentor Group-Closed! KEEP ASKING QUESTIONS!!! YEAH TREVOR---YOU MADE MY DAY! Tell your wife she can hang out with Paul. He isn't racing either. We are planning to come in on Friday and depart on Monday so somebody better be willing to have some fun on Sunday night. My biggest concern with leaving that early is getting my bike back to an LBS for shipping. Guess I will cross that bridge a little later....anyone know if bike transport supports that race? THIS IS GOING TO BE A BLAST.... |

Champion 9060 Charlottesville, Virginia | Subject: RE: SWBKRUN Mentor Group-Closed! KEEP ASKING QUESTIONS!!! So who wants to do my 9 mile run for me today? Cruise Intervals. Warm up 1. 5 miles easy. 3 x 2 miles (goal = 8: 00-8: 10 pace) with 1/4 mile easy jog between them. Cool down 1. 5 miles easy. ugh. Will see how it goes. about 1/2 way through my long run on Sunday the back of my ankle was a bit sore and remained sore for awhile after the run. |

I was cruising around Amazon the other day and they had the Garmin 305 for $140... That's like $160 off the list price. I know that it is the older model, but it will serve my purpose just fine. However, my wife gets nutted up everytime I buy anything from like the first of October until Christmas every year - you know, why did you buy that with Christmas so close, stop buying yourself Christmas presents, yada-yada-yada... So, anyway, I convice her to let me buy it to be from her to me for Christmas. After I bought it, she adds, but you won't get to open it until Christmas... Now I have to figure out how to make Christmas come early (like this Thursday...) Anyone got any ideas? Just buy it now, tell her it's an early christmas present, then buy yourself something for christmas and say you forgot about the watch... Here's where it pays to think with a woman's viewpoint. Buy her something now that she really would love. Go out on a date and bring both presents wrapped with christmas wrap. Bring them out after dinner and VOILA!!! I would not complain, it would make me smile and make me love you even more! Then you both get something you want. but andy, it has to be comparable, not like a box of chocolates! |

Master 1467 Small Town | Subject: RE: SWBKRUN Mentor Group-Closed! KEEP ASKING QUESTIONS!!! My wife gave the big stamp of disapproval for Lonestar. Unless I do NO other races next year to accommodate the travel expenses and all, I'm out. Update about my dept: Our township board decided against closing a fire station - good news. But the alternative calls to lay off 1 or 2 firefighters. It also calls for Wage Step Increases to be froze for all of the 2010 budget. But next year I jump to Senior Firefighter - which is just over a $9k jump. Huge!!! But we cannot 'fix' it until they fail to give me the raise (as it's in our contract). Then it'd be tied up in the grievance process and I'd get back pay when it was settled. This next year is going to be rough... and I may end up on the union bargaining committee too - yikes. My thought is other people will have food and beer. Which would you rather do, run by their food and beer, and have none of it available to you after the race, or run by our food and beer to have it ready when you finish. And say if a beer rolls onto the course when you run by.. If it's an "accident" does that make it outside assistance? |

Since the man is coming down, I am not volunteering on Saturday, but I am in for our pasta dinner. Let's see the next person to pick on to get signed up for Galveston surely must be Barry. I mean isn't Alabama almost next door to Texas? If I can trot down from WI and Trev can come from the great white north, it seems only reasonable, doesn't it? |

Very cool Jeremy, something you guys used? Should be getting my NCVC tri-suit today in the mail, planning on wearing that to race in but would be cool to have the shirt for Saturday walking around. that cafre press or whatever site can do stuff like that for small groups. |

I used a stock photo of a Cervelo P2 as that's what I have and then Googled 'Michigan' and found an image of the state. I just copied the BT logo from the top left of the screen and resized it, then converted it to BW and adjusted the contrast. My bike image is better than the VengaVenga one, much more clean. I'd say do let's do th CafePress idea. I've used a few shirt company's online, could go that route too... but with CafePress each person could get exactly what they wanted - even a thong! |
