Correct. Spec sheet says "39x53T, 172.5 mm" For the first time, I wish I knew what that means.
Well your BIG one in the front has 53 teeth and the inner is 39. Now you can play around with your cassette in the rear if you are finding that your gearing is too tough. Alot of people are VERY happy with compacts, unless you are masochists like Josh and Chile who put 59's on their tri bikes!

That allows you to play around with cassette sizing to get similar gearing ratios. It really depends on WHAT you are going to be riding and how you are feeling with your current gear, as well as your riding style (spinner vs masher ), etc.
For example:
A 50x34 (compact ) with a 11x23 cassette is about the same as a 53x39 with a 12x25. You can check that stuff out on Sheldon Brown's web site.
