molto veloce mama ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() not sure why, but that last line reminded me of this (from the onion): Dear Sir Mix-A-Lot: I am an elderly woman who lives alone. There are no senior centers in my area, and I live on a fixed income. I would love to get out and meet more people, but there seem to be very few options for someone my age. Is there some social outlet I don't know about? -- Lonely In Laramie Dear Lonely, Kick it, lick it, watch where I stick it Face down while I punch your ticket Ride my king cobra 'round the world Wanna do ya girl Want ya pettin' my big black cat Blackberry jam don't shake like that If your booty's extra-large, I'll bring the funk Wanna see some extra luggage in the trunk. |

Sir Godfrey of the Nessie Alliance summoned the help of Scotland's local wizards to cast a protective spell over the lake and its local residents and all those who seek for the peaceful existence of our underwater ally. ugh, idiot. Expert![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() autumn - 2006-02-23 12:27 PM there have been 75 reports in new york, 4 near rochester, so we could use your house! ![]() I am up for that. We could use the house but my families cottage would be better. There has been two sightings in close proximity. It would also be a great place to hold a tri. Smith Pond has a lot of sea weed but is big enough for good work out and the hills will kill you. These are hills that Welshy can only dream about. |

Expert![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() For some reason the first time I read this report it got my hair standing on the back of my neck even though there was no actual sighting. incident occurred in late February of 1989 at approx. 10pm. The conditions that night were very clear and cold, with a fairly decent amount of moonlight. As I recall there was about 4 inches of old snow on the ground, and as it was very cold that evening the snow was ice incrusted, and made a good deal of noise when stepped on. I was jogging on a trail that is approx. one quarter of a mile long. The trail itself was fairly clear (about two feet wide) and ran across the base of one of the hills that surrounds the Chemung Valley. The surronding area was heavily forested with a mix of trees common to upstate New York. |

molto veloce mama![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() there are elements of that story that make me think of my own 'experience' which i've been rethinking ever since i read some of the other reports, especially those about smell. that feeling of being afraid, yet not. i have no idea what we smelled or sensed, but i certainly never thought it was a sasquatch at the time. the idea just never crossed my mind. i'm not proposing that it WAS what we smelled or sensed, because it could of been many things, but i now i think its at least within the realm of possibility. thought seriously about sending this to just a couple people in a pm, instead of posting it, since i know some people already think i'm nutty for believing they could be real - but then that's part of the problem. suppose they ARE real - how many sightings and encounters go unreported because people have closed their minds to the idea? in the summer of 1998, my then boyfriend (now husband) and i took a trip to the bwcaw in northern minnesota w/ his father and brothers. they had a small motor boat and were confined to trout lake (only a few lakes allow motor boats), while we had a canoe and were able to take day trips away from the main lake. on one day trip we tried to locate a hiking trail to stretch our legs. i believe it was a path between trout and oriniack lakes, although i'm not totally sure. the trail lead across a boggy, marshy area, over which was built a boardwalk. past the bog, the trail narrowed a bit and was on solid ground. we hiked in for a while (less than a mile). we started to smell something strange and i immediately felt that we were not supposed to be where we were and said we should go back. when my (future) husband asked why, i just said i didn't like the smell and felt like we needed to go back, that maybe it was a bear smell (although i don't remember ever smelling anything like it before, despite having seen many black bears in duluth growing up). he said he wanted to see if it was a bear, since he had never seen one in the wild. i replied that if it was, we didn't want to stick around. the smell was strong, and i hypothesized that it might be a den (although at that point i had never seen or smelled a bear den before). it was a warm, living, but unpleasant smell. i didn't feel frightened as much as cautious and had a feeling similar to that of childhood when you cut through someone's yard and are afraid of being caught - only we were in the middle of the wilderness. my husband says he felt curious and that the smell might have been from something dead. we headed back to the boat, and i remember feeling like we were leaving someone or something back behind us. my husband says he remembers that i really wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. i have spent loads of time in the woods, all over minnesota, oregon, and wisconsin. i've been spooked before, even had a near miss during deer hunting season, but nothing that made me feel the way this experience did. i hadn't thought about this much until reading some of the reports on bfro.net. i grew up in northern minnesota and had never heard stories of sasquatch in minnesota, only in the northwestern part of the US. the idea that the smell could have been from something other than the animals i was already familiar with never crossed my mind until now. when i read about a strong smell in some of the reports, i immediately thought of the experience in the bwcaw. what is more, it made me put together this experiences with one more recent. in 2003, i had the opportunity to visit a black bear den with the minnesota dnr. we were volunteers who were there to hold and keep warm any bear cubs taken from the den while the anesthetized mother was weighed and checked over. i had the opportunity to stick my head into a real black bear den. i took in the experience since it was very amazing, including the smells. i didn't think about it until now, but the smell was nothing like the smell i attributed to a den back in '98. granted, one experience was in summer, the other in winter. still it made me realize that whatever we smelled that day, was probably NOT a bear or a bear den. |

Master![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() kgart - 2006-02-23 8:06 PM I asked a friend of mine who lives in the area of the documented sighting what he knew of big foot, and he indicated that for years people have stated they have seen big foot in the woods on Conneticu Hill (about fifteen miles from where I was). I do not know if this was a big foot, but something was in the woods with me that night, and fromthe sounds of it made, it was to large to be a person, and was definitely bi-pedal Great story - I'd go back in the daylight and check that are of the woods for footprints, broken branches/fur. |

Veteran![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Well lets see.... according to the Kokanee Beer company, sasquatches do exist... the sasquatch is the mythical figure that is always stealing the beer from the forest ranger.... see pic.... so i do think that there might be a family of alcoholic sasquatches out there in the souteast part of British Columbia!!!! Also, you know what they say about big feet... "they need big shoes" lol I actually don't believe that they do exist, if they did, someone would have caught one by know and they would be in a ZOO somewhere.... so i think that it might be safe to say that this is just part of some hoax... however, as someone mentioned above, people can be made to believe anything... I think what is more of a mistery is whether or not ghosts exhist??? HMMMMM Paco |
