Wow, Don, those pix are breathtaking! Far cry from my scenery. I'm still in shorts.

I haven't read the whole thread but I am 27 miles from hitting 1,000 for 2015. I've never done that many in a year before. I'm pretty stoked about my running consistency this year.

Awesome! I'm right behind you, for my goal at least. I should top 1000 on Saturday.

Way to go!
Now what?
I thought I would take it easy after reaching my goal but frequent running is a hard habit to break. My first week after reaching 2000 km is actually going to be above average for my mileage.

It only goes up from here. The month of January is supposed to be around 215 miles for me. My mileage won't go down until after my ultra in March, and after that we'll see which endeavor I want to tackle next. I've been wanting to get into marathon swimming for years now so it may be time to take that plunge. Actually I really wish I had been running this much for the entire year, but Jan-March were pretty skimpy. Had I been running at the same rate that I have been since May, I'd actually be closer to 1800 for the year.

Great work everyone!  I fell well short at 500 miles due to injury, but I am back at it and will see how things go next year.  I will make 1000 miles one day!  Happy New Year to all.

Thanks for joining us even if you didn't make it, IronOx.  And congrats to everyone whether you made it to your goal or not. I finished up at 1052. This was a great challenge, so thank you to everyone for participating. It kept me going and I thought about it as the miles ticked by. Best of luck to everyone in 2016!!

Way to go Pam! I saw you sitting with about 9 miles to go for the last few days and I was rooting for you to get out and reach your goal.
I finished up with 1345 miles.
Thanks to everyone for your participation and encouragement.

Hi Everyone
Happy New Year!
I created a new tab in the Google sheet for 2016. The 2015 data is still there.
For now I have my 2016 goal as 1000 miles. I think I want to cut back a bit compared to 2015.

I'm in to try again.  I hope no one minds, but I have put in 1600 in my 'goal miles' column, however it will be 1600 km (1000 miles) that I am aiming for.  I just find it a pain to convert to miles when I am entering in the 'current mileage' column.

Hi IronOx
I agree that it's a pain to convert. I do all of my tracking in km too. So I have added a new column where we can enter your distances in km. There's a formula in the 'current mileage' column that converts to miles. I've overwritten your goal to be 1000 miles - not really important but this way the bars in the graph will be the correct proportions. (I'll admit to being a tad anal when it comes to spreadsheets.)

I hope this works for you. I can always add a few more columns so that distances are shown in both km and miles. Good luck with your running in 2016.
Don

Soon after I got married, I decided I needed to get motivated to work out and focus on getting back into shape. I could barely jog a quarter-mile without needing a walk break.

I think quite truly for the first time I 'get it'. It's not just about the fitness. It's not just about the great little endorphin rush as you hit 5, 10, 15 miles...its not just the medal at the end.
