Well...my hubby is tall and skinny with very little upper body muscle...he does have nice legs, though.   That being said, I generally do prefer a more muscular physique - nice pecs, shoulders & arms, along with a nice butt and legs.  Foot in mouth  Wow...did I really just say that outloud?!?  LOL  Don't get me wrong...I love my hubby's body...but I think I have more upper body muscle than he does.   He's not a big fan of lifting weights.

I am entertained by the discussion and much gratified that Janicewhokeepsmehumble was not like the majority in this thread in her body type preference when we were in high school.  I was one those guys whose IQ exceeded his weight and I'm not that smart.

It's very informative that a thread entitled "Ladies, opinions please?..." has so many posts from men. It would be interesting to read it all with a filter that allowed only the ladies' opinions. The OP even said, "Ladies Only please..." : )

This is an awesome post.

I work with some guys that make their "hair appts", "manicures", etc. How sickening. It is ok to take care of yourself, but not in a "womanly" sort of way.

LOL I shave my head so I don't deal with hair appts and I just do it my self. I know guys who have hair appts to get there head shaved?!?!  A real man does a sniff test and is out the door When I go to work out I don't try to coordinate my shirt with my shoes

That's really funny because I shave my head so I don't have to deal with my hair since I wear a motorcycle and bike helmet.
When I was in the Navy, guys used to critcize me for not primping like they would.  I keep myself clean, wear my deodorant and cut my nails when necessary but other than that, why try to create a picture of something you are not?

Isn't that the size of most male triathletes, at least the fast ones?  As opposed to the sexy ones.

The elites of any sport are usually not a desirable build to most.  The only sport I can think of on the men's side where a top athlete has the ideal build to the average woman would probably be gymnastics.  They have to be built well all around for the crazy crap they do.

For the women's side I guess volleyball and the sprinters.  I saw some sprinter girl in the olympics and holy crap was her body (well all I really saw was her butt) built nice.

But when you are a top athlete it doesn't matter.  Horse Jockeys have fine women following them around.

Couldn't disagree more.  As I said earlier, what I find most aesthetically pleasing and what's actually sexy are not necessarily correlated.  How you move, charisma, intensity, grace, power....all those things can come in lots of different size packages.

I don't think most women are in to guys shorter than them.

I don't care how much personality and heart a guy has--if he's skinny and/or is into fashion, I'm just plain not going to have the urge to make out with him.

If I was a girl I would love the cover model guys on the Men's health Mag.  No, I dont play on the other side of the fence but I think I know what women may like.

Maybe, but aren't male gymnasts and jockeys both typically like 4 feet tall?

yeah, he'd be a looker.  but if he opens his mouth and is dumb as a rock it's done in .0001 seconds.   Or if he takes more time to get ready than i do, done.  Or if he doesn't have his shyte together, done.

OTOH, thin in shape tri guys who's cool as crap, who i can go play on bikes with, go swim across some lake that's a couple miles long, go water skiing, etc. etc. etc....IN!

so much more to it for a lot of women...

No clue.  I've only seen them on TV but I guess they are short now that I think about it.  Can't have some 6' gorilla jumping around up there.

Regardless of activity or build there is no substitution for a fat wallet when attracting a female.  A good build will go away but a fat wallet can last a while.

I like guys with some muscle, but I don't like the body builder type physiue. A six pack of abs on a guy and a nice chest is always really hot. Skinny guys can be really cute too, but not the metrosexuals, lol.

That being said, a great personality is the best thing a guy could have
