I had a bad swim today. I just didn't have any energy. I was supposed to be doing sprint sets alternating with regular sets but it just wasn't happening. I nearly gave it up completely around the halfway mark but managed to finish off 90% of of my intended workout. Can I go back to bed?

Maybe you have a GIANT hangover?

Ehhh...we all have those days. Best to just pack it in when you do and save it for another day.

Yeah, maybe that's it. Blame it on the Eagles!  ;)

Did a run this morning under a bright moon. Caught my toe on something and stumbled but didn't fall. I've slightly tweaked my knee but I think it's gonna be ok.

Ouch!  Hope you're okay!  Pretty much the only reason I dislike running in the dark.  I've done my fair share of tripping too

I've even been running with a headlamp, but it didn't help me today.

Looks like everybody's been pretty persistent....  though I know I need to get my swim on....
Sucks that I yielded to hubby's workout this morning and forfeited my swim... I'm thinking that maybe Fri midday I can hop in the pool....

i don't do night runs... i tried the headlamp.. it does help.. just don't like running the dark either... the percentage factor rises for an injury is my biggest fear.. moonlight running however could be nice!  train on team persistence..

j girl happy day

i used to run every Tuesday night with my running club. No one bothered to bring a headlamp. I was like screw that, I want to see where I run. So I started doing it, people abused me about it, but then eventually everyone was wearing one.

I'm not running these anymore - partially due to my knee issues, and partially due to some drama that occurred. (great story by the way)

I did some cycling on the trainer stand this morning and my knees felt OK. I'm still doing ibuprofen and ice for good measure.

Daisy,

It looks like you have several training events that you have not logged on the team spreadsheet. Please try to keep this up to date so that you/the team gets credit for all of your hard work.

Thanks, Nicole

Hey gang, a question has come up on another thread, and I wanted to throw it out there for general discussion, which I will accept or ignore depending on how many mint chocolate GUs I receive in the mail.

I've been giving a lot of thought to the 30% cutoff. I think I'm going to drop it entirely. I like cutoffs because they weed out the people who are no longer doing the challenge. But with the nature of a lot of people's goals, you just might not be at 30% yet. Also, I didn't expect so many people to have so many goals when I first set up the challenge.

So I'm going to take a look at the spreadsheets on Sunday after the second week is done and see if there is any obvious pattern. If there is someone not participating at all, I'll likely drop them. But as long as you are participating, I want everyone to keep chipping away at their goals. As I said before, I don't really care what percentage you get done, I want to see people really challenging themselves to grind through their workouts during good times and bad.

Remember, let me know in some form if you are upping your goals, either on here or in a PM. Raising the bar is a big part of what I look at in the standings, so I definitely want to know what's going on.

Lemme know what you think. And don't forget the GUs.

Hey guys, sorry I've been MIA but I am just now getting over a stomach bug that has been going around.  I am running and swimming tonight.  I'm not sure I'll make my goal - at least the swimming.  I have a work trip at the end of the month and no access to a pool for 5 days.  We'll see though.

Happy Thursday!

It's all about doing the best you can. don't worry if you don't reach your goal. You can revise it because of the circumstances, but dont' give up...just keep plugging away.

Good Morning,

I had a much better swim this morning. Something was definitely off with my nutrition on Monday.

WRT my knees, they feel fine while biking, swimming, and walking on level ground. However, they don't feel right when I go down the hill alongside my work. So, I'll be skipping tomorrow's run. Basically, there's no way I'll make my running goal but I'm back on target with my swimming goal.

Hey team!

I'm heading on vacation tomorrow and most likely won't have good internet access.  I'll try to keep my running up while I'm away but won't log it or update the team spreadsheet until I return on the 26th.

Happy training everyone!!

Hi Gang!!!
Just updated my stuff on the spreadsheet.... I had to go digging to get it figured out, but realized I was shorting myself a strength workout...

I've gotten a little off track with my plan (due to hubby's training, 5yo's skiing, and my laziness)
Hopefully by Mon afternoon I can catch up.  It's a gov't holiday and I'm working, so that means short day (cross-fingers) with easy gym access - I'm thinking of doubling my strength and run then.

Hey guys!  Keep going at it - that's what this challenge is about right?

Today is supposed to be in the 50s so we're going to do the Incline this afternoon - 1 mile up, 1000' elevation gain, 3 mile jog down the Barr Trail.  I'll try to drag my BF to the pool this weekend too

I'm sorry that you have knee and running issues   and there's nothing wrong with NOT running for awhile to give your knees a break.  Keep at the swimming!

I hope you decided not to drop those people who are not at 30%.  I was at 28% for my run and I still need the challenge.  I am really struggling with running, which is partially due to the weather.  I hate the treadmill and I have been running almost entirely on the treadmill.  I am still plugging along, even though I don't think I can make my goal of 100 miles.  But, I want to push to do as many miles as possible.....and the challenge would help me stay motivated....PLEASE!!!!!?????
