saling4 - 2007-10-22 7:45 AM Weekly update for the Living Dead.  Are we kicking rear or what?  Is anyone else out there?

OH YEAH are we out here!!!  Here are the numbers for The Bad Omens.  Otherwise known as the ROCK STAR team!

Hey sailing4 - sounds like you worked too hard last week.  Better take a rest week.
Hey, just concerned for your well being......

Nothing like a little challenge to kick the motivation in high gear.  GREAT JOB everyone!!!

Hey Cat, just so you know, I made a slight adjustment for mestern.  I was using the wrong calculation converting miles to kilometers.

Here is Week #3 for the Things That Go Bump!! Most of us are running along nicely, with a few of us almost to our goals - I except those will be hit before the 31st! One teammate even bumped up her goal, as she would have otherwise hit it this week

Here's the lowdown for week 3.  Riorio is blazing away at a whopping 96% of her goal completed already.  Kludwig has surged into second place with 87% done.  Twocat is at 82% while Rowdypaint and Tkbslc clocked in at 81%.  Max and Irongirl39 have an even 80% (I'm sure PT Cruzer has 80% too, but hadn't logged her run this morning when I checked, so she's listed at 77%.  No worries, she'll be done by the end of the month.

Runnerg1r7 revised her goal from 60 miles to 50 due to the knee problems (highlighted in the spreadsheet).  She had a nice, warm, 5K this past weekend.  Rock-on!

Tupuppy's mourning the loss of his beloved running buddy (Murphy) who was adopted out to another family.  He's sitting at 60%, but it's nothing a few runs won't remedy.  Susanp has kicked it up a notch to bring her total to 54%.  She's had nice week and expects to log 10 miles a week, which should bring her in right on target for the end of the month.

Here is the week 3 results for the Poison Apples. We have had one person hit 100% this past week and one that completed 100% this morning (counted in next week results). We are doing great overall as a team (even with a dropped member due to no showing for three weeks).

Leave it to Trickerson to make "slight" adjustments.  I think my team meant FT instead of miles.  I'll make a "minor" adjustment.....Kiss.

Here's the BLACK MAGIC!!!

We've had THREE teammates increase their goals, including one, JohnDeere that has inspired a co-worker to take up the challenge. (and maybe the whole office)

Another racked up the miles while on vacation, and then came back and logged them all for us - thanks Lobstergirl.

And finally, a big SHOUT OUT to TexasMPGal, who continues to pile on the miles while finishing up her tour in Iraq. We can't wait to hear she's home safe and sound and happily buying new running shoes in Texas!

GO BLACK MAGIC>

We had 3 members hit their goals....and 3 members also increased their goals.  (Not necessarily the same 3!)

Happy Running!

Okay, let's try this again.  Here are the yet-again revised numbers for Team Bad Omen.  I screwed up TexOma miles - not just last week, but for the entire month.  Rather than going back, I "adjusted" week 3 miles.

Go ahead sailing4, give me your best shot.  I can't help that I'm stoopid.

Trickerson,  We are using the  Menelaus’s Theorem to figure out the distance, right?  Or do I have to make adjustments to the Axis of Rotation method?

Okay, the only member seriously affected by the fires in SoCal is Terri, aka MrsUSMC. She doesn't currently have access to a gym or the mall (our optional suggestions), as they are being used for evac shelters. And no treadmill at home. She walked the other day but cut it short due to smoke in the air. I'd prefer none of my team members contract some weird lung disease, so we have decided to pick up her extra 12 miles. Yanti is down for 6, I am taking 2, possibly 3, Judi is probably taking 1, and we'll see who else chimes in after people read the thread tomorrow morning.

Thanks... she was one of the two people I had in mind when I wrote the original thread... just read the update that she is ok... tell her to hang in there

Just wanted to chime in here....  I think it is great that teammates want to pick up the miles for the fire/smoke victims, but even if they didn't, I don't think the teams or individuals should be penalized for not reaching their goals due to the situation.  Could you calculate the totals not including the percentage of time from when the wildfires started for the affected individuals if needed?  Just a thought.  I'm good with whatever you want to do Cat.

So cool that teams are pulling together.  AWESOME community we have here on BT.  Even you Sailing4.

Thanks.. yes I have no intention of penalising anyone... so far it looks like just one person is seriously affected and unable to run (on evac alert, heavy smoke and the gym is being used as a safe house for those evacuated) and her team is going to run for her.

But Mother Nature is hard to predict isnt it? If anyone needs their goals adjusted due to this incident just let me know. Absolutely!

Cat, here is our End of Week 4 spreadsheet for Things That Go Bump. We had two training casualties due to the SoCal fires (Terri and Van Paulus), but they have rallied well to try to catch up. A few of us pledged extra, and 4 people have already met their goal! Any overage we have will be discarded after whatever is necessary is applied to Terri and Van Paulus' scores. Everyone else will have to meet their goal without assistance, though I am pretty confidend that we can make it!!

We are going to hit 100% by wednesday.
