Expert 1580 Ankeny, Iowa | Subject: RE: February Challenge Run Team 2 Hi Everyone - My name is Stacie. I have to get used to a chatty team - I was on a team with Dee and Lyssa back in Oct. and they were chatty but I need to get used to it for this team. I was without internet until about 2 hours ago and now I am trying to finish up work - no end in sight. Thank goodness I did my run earlier today before I got busy. History - I ran track through junior high, and I ran cross country for the first two years of high school. I had double knee surgery about 2 weeks before my senior year in High School. After that I kind of layed off on running. My husband spent 2004-2006 in SE Asia with military so I took that last year he was gone to start running again. I wanted to lose weight and I thought it would help. I was doing well until about May 2006 - I had dropped to my goal weight of 135 and was stoked. I was out for a run and narrowly avoided getting hit by a car but the jump sideways screwed up the knee again. So I had to take time off for that. Then a big unexpected move came. We found out 30 days before hubby was to come home we were leaving Alaska about a week after he came home. Well we made the move and it finally took me about 10 months (Oct 2007) to get back into running on a somewhat consistent basis. I took a break when hubby came home from the desert after the Oct. challenge and lost my MOJO. I think it is coming back so I am working at getting back into it. I have done a 5K in the past but that is it. I don't know how to swim so I am hoping to do a DU in the future until I get brave enough to learn how to swim. I had hoped to run the OKC 1/2 Marathon in April but I am dealing with shoulder pain due to a shoulder injury from ice skating with my neice on New Years Eve. I don't think it is going to interfere with the challenge but right now I am working through PT that will hopefully keep me from surgery. So I am not sure where that leaves me on the 1/2 Marathon. Probably will look for one later in the year just to be safe. My Goals for 2008 - * Run faster and longer * Lose the last of the weight (currently around 145 and would love to get to 135) * Finish Masters in Information Technology Mgmt w/ emphasis in Project Management * Learn to swim with my friend who doesn't know how to swim either. I will try to keep up with the conversations. I work from home at all hours of the day (thus - being still working at almost 8pm) since I work for a company 3 hours behind me. I will try to do my best.
(Sorry for being long winded) |

Elite 3471 Evergreen, CO | Subject: RE: February Challenge Run Team 2 wow -- I just found our thread and we're on page 3 already! woo hoo! I'm Susan. Hi everybody!! Let's see..... I've always enjoyed running -- at least until this winter w/ snow and ice never melting and having to run on roads. Actually, in CO snow usually evaporates. Anyway. Ran track for a bit in high school, cross country senior year when I quit volleyball. Ran like mad for fun and weight control til pregnant w/ #1, on and off since. Decided I better get moving in 2006 before it was too late, did 3 sprints and various road races in 2007, and psyched about 2008!! I prefer trail running, that's why I'm running for time not distance -- never know what the conditions will be. I'm signed up for a marathon -- my 1st -- in May. Hope to do another in Sept. We have a big (read expensive but fun ) family trip planned for summer so don't know what will be in the budget for races. Maybe lots of small local stuff. I hope! Did my 1st challenge in December and am hooked! Just gotta be careful to not overdo it for the team Names: I liked Will Run For Food, altho for me it should be Will Run For Beer. So Running Down A Dream sounds good to me. I already do too much Running On Empty, trying to avoid that

Member 15 Kailua, HI | Subject: RE: February Challenge Run Team 2 Hey all, I am a very new member to BT. As per my sister, Xterratri. I have been fairly active over the past few years. I am a 21 year old that is working part time and going to school part time. I am currently just trying to build my miles back up. I ran off and on during middle and high school, then ran CC during my freshman year of college. I did my first tri when I was eight and have been doing them off an on since. This year my major goal is to do a couple of tris again. Beat witch may have beat me before, ie bike up a hill that I never have before. Well my goal for the month is to run 50 miles and bike and swim as often as I can. I am fine with any team name you all can come up with. Erin |

If I have to alternate running and walking every minute, I'm still going to run some time this weekend. |
