Out of curiosity...
I noticed Rick and Brian are Team Zoot/Gu members, as I am myself. Anyone else?

Got in a very easy 8 miler yesterday. Half Marathon coming up next weekend. which should get my totals back on track.

Is everyone updating the spreadsheet? Not necessary, but make sure you get in your totals by Saturday night.

This is also my last "big" week before I taper ....... 70 miles assuming I get everything in.  10 tomorrow with 6 in the morning, 4 in the evening.  11 with 6 x 1,000 intervals @5k pace Weds.  15 Thurs.  8 general aerobic Fri.  6 recovery Sat. and then the last 20 on Sunday.

Then it is off to taper town!!  Of course I still have track work each week during that taper ...... grrrrrrrrrr.

What training program are you using?

bhoover10001 - 2008-02-03 8:51 PM Well, I'm going to say 12 today, for a total of 17 so far. The big mileage is this week, and then it's taper time (FINALLY).

For running, it's somewhere in between Hal Higdon's Beginner 2 and Intermediate 1, with some modifications for the Iron Man, and life.

I can't wait for Taper Town.... the mileage is beginning to really add up. I got home from boot camp on Sunday and slept the entire day and that was a low mileage day.

Semi-sponsored program through Zoot and Gu where you pay reduced price for a package that includes clothing, Gu and GU2O (their drink) and get discounts on the Zoot and Gu products.

I was on Team Gu last year and loved it so I went for it again for '08 when Zoot also came on board (last year the clothing was 2XU stuff, which I also liked).  They are "sponsoring" about 300 athletes for the year.

I'm back too. I've still got the last of this stoopid plague, but should be run/walking by the end of the week. I'm SOOOOOO tired of being sick.

I just came down with the plague yesterday. I'm hoping it goes away soon.

Glad to hear that you are at least seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

I had the plague for three days and just recovered. But fortunately, it saved me from the moral dilemma of having to decide whether a 13 mile run on the evening of the 31st of January could be shoe-horned into this challenge, or if I'd have to eat them.

I sure hope the plague doesn't travel over internet connections. Although, based upon how many of team LEMons has it....

antti asu will be joining your team. Please don't send him your plaguey symptoms!

(Feel better, guys!)

LEMmings- the reRUN. Once again over the cliff.- That's our motto and we're sticking to it.

Not LEMons however much our esteemed Challenge organizer seems to like calling us that

Hello everybody, my name is Antti, I come from Finland, except now I live in Bahrain, island in Persian Gulf.

I'm planning to run 80k this month. This is the best time of the year to be outside here in land of sun and sand. It's beautiful 60f outside and sun is shining. In the summertime it is way over 100...

Let's win this thing this month! Over the cliff!!!

Welcome - Can you send some sun and warmth this way? Tomorrow 10-14 inches of snow.  Ugh - how did a Califonia girl end up here?

snow? let's see, what was that again... haven't seen snow since 2004. or really since 2002 winter. couple of winters in thailand teaching people to dive and now here in bahrain since oct 2004. maybe next winter we take our two boys back home to have their first real christmas. both are born in bahrain...

are you guys running outside in winter/snow? i used to do that back home. i would prefer skiing, though!

this time of the year i'm a bit greedy about the sunlight and warmth, but in june-september i'd love to send you at least 20f degrees, day and nite.

my golf playing fellow worker mike had a friend over from south africa and they were talking about playing golf in summertime. mike told him that in summer only possible time to actually play is in the nighttime - we have beautiful lit golfcourse here. visitor asked that what time it starts to cool down. mike looked him slowly and said: in october.

Let's see... cause in Wisconsin you don't have to pay $700k for a fixer upper 2 bedroom condo, with $500/month home owners fees?

Just a guess.

Or have to pay $7,000 a year in home owner's insurance and property taxes like where I live for a 2,700 s.f. house on an acre. Surprised

Oh, meanwhile got in another 6 this morning with 4 on the schedule when I get home tonight.

37.7 miles down not including tonight .......

Got my 4 in this afternoon after leaving work early (again - since I'm still fighting this drippy sinus thing).

41.7 miles down.  20.8% complete.
