Welcome aboard Bill. Nibbs aka challenge chat always has the welcome mat out. Besides you're a former "Swimming Rocks" team member and one gives you a hard time, you and I can throw rocks at them. LOL I got a Jury Summons in the mail today. Second jury summons in my life. First one was 19 years ago. Federal or County? Cuz... they're like serious about that Federal summons stuff. |

I don't think they do any federal cases in the county building here. I'd have to go into Atlanta for that. The bummer is it is the same week as Relay for Life (ACS) and I usually take half that week off from work to help get it all set up. Maybe they won't want me for a case. One can hope. |

The Yanti Chelsea Cherry Poppin' (doesn't that sound GREAT?!?!?) will take place earlier, possibly as soon as next weekend, but I took a beating at Oceanside so will probably pass and just volunteer or sherpa for my friend. Have another tri on May 10. Sal, I loooove that card! Hmmm ... new pick-up tips ... I'd buy a ticket. |

First one was 19 years ago. Federal or County? Cuz... they're like serious about that Federal summons stuff. County is pretty easy to get out of. In fact, Relay for Life might even be excuse enough. I had to go to federal jury selection for the Phen-phen fraud case of some lawyer here in Jackson, and the judge was actually getting people together to go locate the potential jurors that didn't show up. I spent eight hours at the courthouse but luckily got cut in the first round. Tips: Roll your eyes at every question the defense attorney asks. |

I have to raise money for the MS ride I'm doing in June and I want to do something other than ask everyone I know to donate. I don't know where I heard this, maybe it was here, maybe from some one at work, but anyway: Get a bunch of pink flamingos or some sort of really gaudy lawn 'art.' Put it in a good friends yard (one who you know would donate anyway), and a note on their door saying the only way they can get rid of it is with a donation, BUT that they get to pick where to put it next. So they donate to free themselves of the flamingos, and you go put it up in whoever's yard they choose with a note that says... "<name> donated xx dollars to put these in your yard. Jen will come pick them up when you'd like them gone, but she will also put them in anyone's yard of your choosing for donating to her MS ride. Ofcourse, word it all a bit better, but that's the gist. The thing with Flamingos is you could split them up. Say, a $5 donation per flamingo to put in somebody's yard. That way, somebody could donate like a $100 and put birds in an entire neighborhood. |

Champion 5117 Brandon, MS | Subject: RE: Challenge Chat (aka Nibbs XV) - come join us :) Do the few people you know with yards know people with yards that you don't know. (Does that make any sense at all?) Whoever mentioned this to me said they ended up in some of the nicest subdivisions around, at people's houses they'd never met, who were giving them $200 bucks and helping them 'decorate' their friends and neigbors yards. |

Do you have any restaurants in the area that will donate a portion of their profits? I did this with Fuddruckers last year on two different nights and raised about $350. We also did a tennis round robin that raised $1200 Golf tourney $3980 Sold Honey Baked Ham gift certificates and we got 20% of the profits, $580 Does that help any? |

MotoQueen 13195 | Subject: RE: Challenge Chat (aka Nibbs XV) - come join us :) I like the flamingo idea. Go to the richest neighborhood and do it there. Who says you have to know someone. They may think that a neighbor paid you to put them in their yard and will start the chair reaction to get them back. LOL |

I think maybe we need to put this in an archive somewhere... Do we need a FAQ for Nibbs? Only if someone needed to increase their post count... Kristen's been trying to up hers lately. That's not entirely accurate...and besides, you were cheering me on. (BTW...less than 100 and I turn "Elite"!) |
