Since you guys are riding in my neck of the woods I'll meet you down on Pecos for the ride.

You have to eat Ryan.

I've heard of riding cainbal style on the bike but I really don't think we have to actually "eat Ryan."

Does anyone run a 5K race pace about 10-10:30 min/mile that wants to run with me?

Awesome. Make sure you stay to my left, or in front (shouldn't be hard). I tend to puke to my right. I have been working hard, so I am hoping I will suprise myself. Or suprise those behind me

Java, I haven't raced in forever!, but you and I may be about the same speed. I'm not a good pacer though I tend to throw it all out there in the beginning and die at the end.

That is exactly my problem. I will go 9 min/mile for one mile and then slooowwww way down just to get to the finish. LOL My goal for this one is to try to hold that first mile a bit more steady to get to the finish without puking.

I have searched and searched and short of eating at the Waffle House or IHOP, the nearest decent place is Einstein's Bagels on 48th St. and Ray when we are done.

There's a Mimi's Cafe near the I-10 and Ray too. That's where we normally go when we want breakfast food for lunch.

Oh there's also a Z-Tejas by 56th and Ray that does Sunday brunch. The menu options are a little limited but they have a $3 Bloody Mary bar and you can pick any kind of vodka you want (yes, that means you can make yourself a $3 Grey Goose Bloody Mary).

Same here.  If I can get the rugrats on a sleepover Sat night I can be there.  ....and do most of the bike ride after depending on when I need to get them back.

How about we do this......Do the route posted above, but instead of turing North on 27th, first go all the way to the end of Pecos, and back to 27th, then pick the route back up.  It will tack a few more miles onto the loop so everyone can feel they got a good ride in, AND, most importantly, we can all eat breakfast together afterward.  It will make it a 23.5 mile loop that way.  Sound good?

I like that idea too!!

In case you aren't pre-registered here is the email I got today:

You are receiving this email because you pre-registered for the final
Arizona Road Racers Summer Series race at South Mountain Park in Phoenix,
Arizona. Race registration begins Sunday morning at 5:30 AM at the South
Mountain Activity Center. To get to the race site, take Baseline Road to
Central Avenue. Head south two miles to the entrance to the park. Just
inside the front gate, head east into the South Mountain Activity Center. Registration will be at the big set of ramadas. Start/finish line will be
just north of that. A course map can be found at
.

Okay, since I seem to be the slowest rider in the group I am looking forward to this sunday. You are all going to be tired from the run so maybe I won't suck too bad.

I am in for the ride and for Breakfast. I will get with the other two brothers grim and decide how we will do this.

I have looked forward all week to riding with you all again.
