Hey Team Mother Truckers! Checking in...

I'm pumped to start back on the monthly challenges after a hiatus of a few months. I'd classify myself an injury-prone frustrated runner-turned-triathlete, if you are into labels. I've been running for about six years now. Done several 5, 10, 15k, 1/2s over the years, one marathon.

Last year was my first tri season. I bought a bike, and learned how to swim not drown in 2008. I dabbled in biathlons and did only one tri (sprint). After my tri, the plantar monster destroyed my training. I'm currently seven weeks off running, but continue to bike, swim, and lift. My two kids keep me busy and my career subsidizes my tri habit.

My plans for 2009 include two marathons, several more sprints, and an attempt at an oly as a challenge! I'm hoping and praying my plantar issues are over when I start running again in 10 DAYS!!!! I'm so excited!!

I need motivation to get through the winter months!! This looks like the winning team already!! Good to meet all of ya! Have a happy Halloween

OK, since the teams are going to be uneven the winner for the challenge will be determined by a percentage instead of most points.  I would hate for the team with the most team members win because of the unfair advantage.

So I just had a terrible realization...I was diagnosed with gallstones on Wednesday and will probably have to have surgery sometime this month...Although I intend to keep up the 5X per week as long as I can I know there will be some period of time after my operation that I will be unable to exercise...So I am going to ask Travis if I can "back out" of the challenge now...I would hate to ruin your chance of winning...I would love to still follow along with your team thread and encourage you all, but I don't want to ruin your chance of winning.

How much did you sign up for point wise?  You could cut back by the % you won't be able to do anything.  Or...most gallbladder surgery is outpt via laparoscopy (I'm a nurse...work utilization review at an insurance company) you could count stretching and such as part of the 5x/week goal.  It doesn't have to be all swim/bike/run.

I will make accomidations around your abilities.  This is also part of the reason that I went to percentage over highest points.  Let me know what you want to do and we will work around it.  Mke sure you ake care of yourself.  I can adjust the total available points to match the time that you can participate.  Let me now what you would like to do.

Like Judy said, it doesn't have to be stinuous exercise, it coud be light stuff.

Yeah...I shouldn't be out of commission too long and could probably still make the full requirement with using stretching and walking as my daily PT vs. running and biking...So I am going to stick with it because 1) I need the motivation (I love the challenges because of this).  2) I don't even have a date for surgery yet 3) It will (hopefully) be laparoscopic with no complications

(Judy - As you probably well know, for most that would mean it probably won't happen within the month, but I am a surgical resident so they are trying to "fit me in" on the schedule)

I can do that.... Unless somebody is quicker... Because I am about to go to the Yoga class and then probably run and/or swim. It's good to be back and getting back into a routine... Also best remedy for jetlag.

Cool.  I can barely post pictures in the threads...if they make it to my log it's cause I copied and pasted them.  YES, I'm going to post my cubicle from yesterday at some point....after the long run or tomorow....Got a wedding later on.

Hey fellow truckers.   I get to play they tell me.

Just a little about me.    I'm now just starting my 4th year in this wonderful sport.   I've done lots of sprints and oly distance races.   Also done 4 marathons.

Mila has an evil, but gentle heart, (even if she won't admit it!)  Queen Zipp is about as dedicatated as they come.   ( Mila, since this is a MILITARY challenge -- I think we need a drill seargent ryhme for the team -- Can you handle that??)

My goal is to keep my training consistent and on-track.  With a move last year to TX, I lost my old training buddies.  Now, with the exception of an occassional workout with a friend, I'm pretty much a solo act, in a serious state of getting myself back into peak shape for next season.  I'm currently improving my run, but I'm still running 2 mins/mile slower over 5k than I was in my prime in 06.

Thanks in advance for letting me be on your team.  I promise to work hard to carry my share of the load and will jockstrap anyone who wants/needs it!

Looks really good!  Could you put the names "on" the trucks?   Just a thought -- but far above my skilles

That would be doable, but not easy I guess. Also the training log resize how the data is displayed and I am not sure I can control that easily. Here's a version that is more how it will look into your training log, not enough trucks for all the names hehe
