I think that meeting up for lunch after the race is a given, but if folks are in the area Saturday night and want to meet for dinner, it's a bonus!

Count me in for two.

shoot, i just realized a saturday night thing may not work for me. I'm driving from NYC to Provincetown Saturday so unless it was an early meet up, I won't be able to drive back after just getting out to Ptown. So let me know and then I can confirm for sure.

I don't mind getting the reservations, but I really have no idea where to go.  I also want to get a pretty solid head count before I start calling.

If you get solid plans to eat somewhere, I can make it on Saturday night.  Get a list together and we can PM each other for cell phone numbers etc.  I'll probably bring my laptop with me as well.

Knee getting a lot better.

Now I am re-hashing the idea to "jockstrap".  If I am coming, then I'll stay there Sat night, and joining the pre-race dinner.

So far I see the attendant list for pre-race dinner on Sat are:

scott + NSO
BostonBeginner + wife + kid
Max
RedSoxChick + Friend-of-Harpoon
running4beer + Jonah
(potentially) D.K.

I don't know Hyannis at all, but will ask around and see what's available.

Sounds good.  I've got my both my hotel and the race start plugged into my GPS so I have better than a 50/50 chance of not getting lost.

My plan is to get to the race expo on Saturday afternoon around 2 PM, pick up my packet, wander around the expo, get autographs from Frank Shorter and Bill Rodgers, then drift over to the hotel.  I'm staying at the Hyannis Holiday Inn which looks to be a couple of miles or so from the race start...at least no more than a 5-10 minute drive.  I should already have DK's cell phone number, but if anyone needs mine, just drop me a PM!

What about picking a place for after the race. Some of us will be done sooner so having a game plan makes sense so we can meet up and find each other.

I'm not sure about Saturday night..maybe if it is early as I'm driving down Sunday and may be enticed to come pick up my bib and have dinner Saturday. I do have a 90' trainer ride or if it is nice I'd be up to riding on the Cape with folks for maybe 2 hours.

Based on this list I made a reservation for 12 at the British Beer Company, 412 Main St, for 6:00pm on Saturday.  We went there a few years ago after the race, and the food and drink is excellent and reasonably priced.

For post-race on Sunday, I'd be happy going back to the BBC, or if someone can suggest a similar place that's fine with me too.  That'll have to be a little more flexible, as people will be finishing at different times.

I am not sure if I'll be staying for lunch on Sunday.

Was asking around for restaurant idea and our own c2fd suggests Fazio on 294 Main St, Hyannis.  http://www.faziostrattoria.com/

The good thing about New England is that if we wait five minutes the forecast will change!!!!!

They usually dont get much snow down the Cape...lets hope not

Is everyone ready?????????

So true!!  I'll be glued to the forecast all week though!

I think I'll be good to go if I can get rid of this plague I have come down with this weekend.  What horrible timing!  I am hoping for a PR so I MUST get better super fast!

A day just like today would be PERFECT!!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed.  Still up in the air as to whether I am going down to the cape on Saturday and staying at my sister in law's in BOurne or just going straight to Hyannis on Sunday morning.  Definitely looking forward to meeting fellow BTers.  I'll be the silver hair at the Back Of The Pack!!!

I decided to not do the race My ankle is bothering me for the last 1.5 months, so I couldn't keep up with my training. I think it's better to take a break anyway and let it heal, so I can get ready for 09 triathlon season. Hopefully, I see some of you guys at other races (signed up for Oly Mooseman & HIM Providence).

I will be in the BOP too - have not been running much  definitely not enough!  but will go muddle through regardless of weather.

I actually like running in the snow - it is never too cold if it is snowing.....but yeah, this is new england, if you don't like the weather wait 5 minutes!

count me in for lunch - driving down sunday morning....

I will take snowing and temps in the 30's rather than windy.  Hopefully it isn't too bad for the ride home.  We are heading out right after the race.  See you guys this weekend.

Since it will be hard to gather everyone after the race, do we want to do a pre-race photo somewhere?

Let's meet at 9:45 under the covered entrance of the hotel.  That'll give us time to take the picture, then make our way out to the street for the 10:00 start.

I just heard from the race organizers that they're going to close the start area at 9:50, so let's meet at 9:30 for the picture and then we can head over to the start.

Dinner is still undecided for me since it'll be a long drive. Scott, I'll let you know.

I'm in for lunch/beer post race. Shall we meet at BBC starting at noon? People can just come when they finish. Scott, will we need another reservation?
