I think am holding steady with my battle against the holiday grub...  I only eat the 'healthy' stuff and avoid the candy, etc...  It's a tough battle...

I've been OKAY....a couple cookies here and there. But I'm eating oatmeal for breakfast. I even brought some in for work for days I forget to bring my lunch. Tried to get some healthy snacks yesterday to keep around the office to keep me from going for the office chocolate bowl!

Our accountant brought a X-mas sack full of Hershey's chocolates, literally a sack, it weighs like 10 lbs. I..............must............................resist!!!

I seem to be keeping off the Xmas food so far. Problem is I seem to be getting through the alcohol we bought in for the holidays at an alarming rate.

My weight seems steady though. I guess I'm starting to rely on the the beer calories for training.

I had cookies.  I'll be glad when the temptation is over....

I don't even consider it temptation any more.  If I want it, I have it.  I just know how much extra work I'll have to do to counter any bad dietary behavior.

So, how is eveyone?  Big plans for the holidays?

My company is making us take the week off between Christmas and New Years (economy), but I don't mind it.  It will give me plenty of time to get outside and do some running/biking during the day.

Yeah the holidays are tough. My wife makes Mrs. Fields cookies that are awesome. At this stage I'm starting to watch what I'm eating. My run today was like I was on the tundra! Cold and windy.

Finished work now until 5th January. Planning a short trainer ride and a swim today then thats me finished training until the new year.

I am going skiing in the French Alps for a week from the 27th. I think this will be longest off swim, bike and run I have taken since starting my training.

I am on call this week so I have to stick around but I will be making my way out of town this Sunday to visit my family and might even do a couple of cross-country skiing workouts while there.  Until then, since there's quite a bit of snow here, indoor drainer rides are in order but I don't mind winter running at all.

I'm eating peppernuts for breakfast, making Chex mix tonight, and making Grandpa's peanut butter cups on Christmas.  I'm well past temptation and gave in whole heartedly.  Thank goodness Christmas only comes around once a year.  I'm not stepping on a scale until the new year.  Then I'll grump and groan about the extra 10 I have to work off.

Great news...I found a local gym that offers yoga, pilates, and swing/salsa dancing amongst other classes for only $10 a month and no contract.  This is awesome.  The base only offers one class after 1530 and it's not one my body could handle yet.  I'm stoked.  Dancing and pilates - here I come.

It's been rough, but with all the "work" holiday parties over last night, I am home free... I have been able to hold at a 10 yr. low weight with a TON of effort... way too much sitting out there this time of the year.  That along with a personal committment to hold to my training plan has worked out well for me.  Now on to the family stuff!  We have the Christmas dinner at our house, so I am in control of things now!

Yeah, thanks for rubbing it in kido!

I have to work tomorrow. Then rushing home to bake some beer bread and spinich dip for the fam....(I know, such a traditional mexican dish!)
Christmas day, my son is with his dad so, I'll be visiting some friends. Took the day off on Friday and probably just run some errands...er....run on the treadmill!

I'm doing ok with the nutrition today. Wheat bagel for breakfast and now eating rice/veggies/chicken i made last night.

That's not bad.  I still have half a day tomorrow...  I got all my winter riding gear in the mail yesterday, so I might go out over the long weekend - if I can escape the family and friend...

Well, almost time for Christmas.  Half day tomorrow and then vacation for a while.  My new plan starts on Monday.  FUN!  Just in time to get me off my arse...

Looking forward to getting focused after the new year...

Joyeux Noël everyone and have fun!  I will indulge in good food tonight and tomorrow and repeat the cycle next week but will somehow find time to train in between.

Two Christmas gifts from me to me today: I signed up for a 10 miler race as well as a half-marathon clinic set to begin January 16th.  The 10 miler will fit right into my half-mary training as it is scheduled on April 5 and the half-mary is on May 10th.

P.S.  Tonight's desert will be the awesome raspberry tiramisu I made.
