Congrats!,

All my stuff is still drying out.  Wife and I were in the first 30 or so to go and it was pouring at that time.  Though we did have time to go take a shower, check out of our hotel and make it back to the race with plenty of time before the awards ceremony.

Oh and if you didn't stick around for the awards Ken announced next year they will use timing chips.

That was so much fun!!!! I am hooked!!! I apparently took around 10 minutes in transition. I left all of my stuff in a plastic bag so it wouldn't get wet instead of setting it out like I had planned.  My shoes were still double knotted when I pulled them out, clothes were sticking to me.  And.. I wasn't even mad at myself because I was having so much fun.  There is so much I can improve on for next year.  I can't wait to do it again!! I might even dare an open water swim now-

Kim- My family said u stopped over and said hi. I can't believe I missed u! I was looking for your bib # until I got in the pool at 8. Congratulations!!!

Jen, I was looking for you.  I think I saw your family (with the German Shepard), Not sure though.  The results are usually posted on the website within several days.  sbrdave said he is not sure if the splits will be posted too, so we shall see.  Congrats and it is awesome that you are hooked!
It was great to meet Kim, Dave and Sarah.  Congrats to all who did the trin today, especially given the crazy weather conditions!

Hi Jen...I did see your family.  They must of thought I was crazy because by that time I had ditched my glasses and couldn't see a thing.  I think I may have asked your son if he was Jen.  OOPS!  Please tell him I was blind at that time.  Anyway, glad that they remembered to tell you.  Unfortunately your swim was MUCH earlier than mine so we never had the chance to actually meet.  Next time.

I also really loved that.  It was HARD!  But I gave everything I had and I smiled all day!

It is funny that so many of you did your race in the rain and I did mine in the sun and heat!

Congratulations to all who raced and finished!! It was some crazy weather conditions with the pouring rain for the first few groups of folks to the sunny and somewhat humid conditions for the later groups. Results should be posted during the week, hopefully Tues or Wed. The participant guide said with splits this year but not sure if they were actually able to do that or not.

It was great meeting Linda (Terps421) and I'll be keeping in touch. Sorry I didn't see any other BTers who had entered. Hopefully, another event. I'm glad to see that many of you will continue and are now hooked! I know the feeling as I was hooked after my second sprint tri a few years back. If you're now still looking for races this season, a great site is www.trifind.com. This has nearly all the events in the country and overseas, arranged by state and then country.

I'll also post a race report a bit later for those that are interested.

Good luck to all of you in the rest of your season, keep "tri"ing for those who are just beginning, and again CONGRATS!

I have yet to manage to actually meet and introduce myself to other BTer's at a race.  But sbrdave, I may have seen you.  I was #293.  Were you talking w/ people on the pool deck about what a hilly course would be like?  Savageman, etc?  Anyway, if so, congrats on your age group finish, and I will try to introduce myself next time!

Actually, Dave,  you met me too...at least sort of.  I was standing right next to Linda.  I was the one who called your name! :D  I am not sure I introduced myself, though.  Next time I will for sure!

The results are in!!  Geesh- I could've moved up like 50 or 60 spots if I knew what I was doing in transition. Oh well, it was so much fun I can't stop smiling.  And, I''m finally able to put a real pic on here.

Kim- My son didn't tell me you thought I was him.  I'm sure it didn't hurt his feelings. 

I can't wait for next yr!!  What other races do you all have coming up?

Why did I have to get into triathlons at the age where everyone else is at their peak?

Yay! I finished 4th in my age group.  I have no idea how many of us there were, but I will take that!

Congratulations to everybody, we did it!!  I wish the splits could have been done so we would have feedback on each event.  But, it was really fun and I look forward to doing it again.

Yeah the weather didn't help.  He did announce chip timing so should help things out. 

Still a very well run race, and glad to still see the wide spectrum of folks racing here.  Though this year didn't see the guy on the beach cruiser (with basket) racing that I did last year

I had tried to gather numbers of folks here who were racing but I guess I didn't try hard enough to keep those in mind. Hopefully, perhaps meet BT folks again another time. At least I got to meet Linda (Terps421).

Oh wow! Sorry I didn't realize it. Like I said to carteroak, I kinda tried to get numbers of folks in the list but failed to follow through come raceday. Hopefully another time.

Congratulations on your finish and completing your first triathlon - You did it! Probably hooked now too, huh? That's the way I felt not quite 3 years ago when I completed my first sprint tri. Good luck with the rest of your season!

Yeah, transitions are often called the 4th event of triathlons because they take up time as well. At my first Olympic, I took 5:30 in T1 and 3:25 in T2 and at my first Half IM, I took 10+ min combined. Well, in Sprints, I now take about 2 1/2 min combined and this year's Half IM I took 5:30 combined. Really does help to practice and get smoother. Also, race belts, lock laces, and getting out of bike shoes on the bike have all helped improve my transition times during this season. Feel free to ask folks questions as you practice too.

Keep checking back here as they continue to add as they go along during the week. These guys I think are the best photographers as they take a lot of candids as well and get different angles on folks.

Oh, I'm sure they'll be more than happy to take a second order from you ;-). Really, these folks are quite good, not too expensive, and I think offer the best selection than any other race I've been in. Some of the race photography outfits are pretty minimal. These guys cover a lot of ground during this event. To be fair, this is a smaller event and that helps. But, I've been in other sprints where it just isn't the same quality and in some cases pretty lame.
