The main floor of the house is ninety degrees.  Upstairs it is significantly warmer.  blech
Now I need to close all the decent size windows so that no one will jump through one during the night.

I really should have taken one of my parents fans.  the windows in my bedroom are teeny-tiny.

It is time for a cold shower.

kns57 - 2009-07-29 6:23 PM So Hubby got the new car.  He's a happy camper.  Now I just have to make the car payments.  But jeez, a 15K car for 8K.  Can't go wrong.

What kind did he get?  I ditched the clunker yesterday in favor of a Jeep Patriot...

Chevy Cobalt.  Should get between 27 & 35 miles per gallon.  Great commute car.

Hola...I am meeting up with a guy that I knew back in high school for an open water swim tomorrow morning.  He is signed up for a race in 2 weeks and has never done any open water swimming before.  He knew that I have and asked for some input.

My input:

Swim the half mile (not the mile) and we are going to the lake...

He didn't know which one he should sign up for.  He has never swum a continuous mile in the pool.  I figured that his first OWS should be a good experience.

I am going to sign up for the mile swim at the event.  I need to get in more OWS practice before Lake Geneva and this will be a good opportunity.  I will even get the crowded start.

I did an OWS with an acquaintence from High School.

Didn't really know him much, just that he was a nice guy.  I have him as a friend on Facebook and he asked me about OWS.  he is signed up for an event in a couple of weeks and wanted some advice.

My advice was that he did and ows before the event.

we met at my mom's house and then carpooled to the lake.

My mom's comments after he left:

He is nice.
He seems shy.
He is really cute.
Is he as tall as Nathan (6'4")

and then concludes with

I'm sure that you've scared him off.

Thanks Mom.

Parents are like that. Here's a similar one that just happened today:

Me: "Do you remember (former coworker who had the same job I did)? He changed careers and is now doing ____."

Dad: "Well, I'm glad he finally decided to leave that worthless job, and do something with his life."

Um.  Say what?  Gee, thanks, Dad. LOL

That's the second time this evening you've mentioned the taser.

I think a week of no-challenge-tasering has caused you to go into full blown taser-withdrawal.

Dear Nibblets,

After tomorrow, I'm probably going to be "disappearing" for a couple of weeks.

I'll check in when I can.

(I suppose this means I'd better post pad a lot tonight, huh?  LOL)

P.S.  Why do I smell burning plastic?  I'm assuming that's a bad thing......

Hi Gang!!!
So it's been a while since I've stopped by here.. heck it's been a while since I've even been on a forum thread (or actually posted)....

Looks like there have been some new additions to the thread here.  Glad to see here

Life's been kind of crazy this spring/summer... got busy training and doing a few races (1/2 mary, then a tri, then a metric century)... then I finished off my ACL   So I've been sidelined for the past 8 weeks...

Then work decided to transfer me (first time they do that to me) after 9yrs in the same office and vacation... well y'all know how life gets....

So I'm back   Hope to "see" more of everyone...

Meanwhile, I'm gonna geaux set the trainer up for my bike... see if I can get the knee to turnover the pedal... (fingers crossed)
