Who would have thunk it? A sincere question has turned into 3 pages of a combination of scientific explanations, creative solutions, Conan O'Brien combacks as well as some good'ol "Animal House" fun.

By starting this thread I feel like I have finally contributed something meaningful to BT.

BTW......The relay ideal is just plain wrong!

Karibu - 2010-06-30 1:04 PM Try

1-body glide
2- new saddle
3- slower transitions
4- forward angled seat post
5- no breast stroking only freestyle

What if panics or can't breathe? Is he allowed recovery strokes?

faded_memories - 2010-06-29 11:10 PM I'm pretty sure I sweat less now than I used to.

Fans?
Sew a bunch of ShamWows together to make some 'special sheets'?
Schedule the workout earlier in the day before it heats up too much?
Ice bath?

HTFU when you HTFU?

Absolutely not - If that happens he should just get off to the side.

Maybe your HR zones aren't correct.

Seriously, after losing more than 100 pounds I'm sure there is a little more demand for your services.

Awesome job!

Minimize skin-on-skin contact which increases sweating.
This may help increase options.
In addition, stores that sell these also sell highly absorbent underpads....

x2 on more interval training.  Also, make sure you keep your Ipod in a waterproof case.

If he has headphones in, he'll be unable to hear emergency instructions from the race director!

Excellent point.  Certainly do not want a DNF.

Bring a bucket to sit on if you need a break.

See if she doesn't mind you setting up a misting tent. Come on, those things are great.
