Any early bets on a winner.  There are alot of athletes out there that look very strong.

Means she didn't ride part of the course.  She cut it short.

And what's happened to Andy Potts?  They're not showing him in the top 10?

wow my coach went <1:02 on the swim and she beat about half the pro women field out of the water.

Conditions looking mild on that bike so far judging by the times.  Let's see if it holds.  Stadler throwing it down?

I'm going to be at dinner tonight checking my phone for their run times in the restaurant bathroom!

Weak on the bike man.  He just needs to minimize the gap and hope for a good marathon but will be nowhere near the leaders off the bike.

man, that is depressing.  Missing the swim cutoff by a minute in Kona and not being able to finish with little hope of ever returning.  I think that might haunt me forever.

damn, stadler IS making a move and looking strong.  gapped the chase group and go after the leaders.  Sweet!  We will have a race.  They have to put more time on Crowie or they are all doomed though!

Yeah, that hurts.  Could they drag that out longer?  So awkward!

Still, it's a world championship... no matter how she got in (which I don't know).  That's tough, but not a lot of sympathy either.

Sorry just joined the party ... and I'm going to be the azzhat who points out that I called this happening to Chrissie. Very sad--a true athlete to make a good decision for herself and the field.

And now it really is both the men's and women's game. Who knew Potts was gonna kill in the water like that?!?!?

Crowie isn't in the top 10, he is in one of the chase packs but they haven't said his actual position.  I think he's probably 11 or 12 right now.

<3 minutes.  He's playing his cards.  Winds are picking up though and the first 50 is the warmup so we'll see what happens the second half of the bike.  They'll need to put a lot more time into him.

Indeed--I have met him and watched him swim--but by OVER 10% in a field like that??? He didn't even do that at CDA.

That is because John Flanagan was in the race at CDA and he is the only one who can beat Potts. Both those guys put a lot of time on the other pros there. Flanagan is not racing today.

Lieto might take it if he can do a solid run...supposedly that is what he was working on.

Matt Lieto was saying that Chris doesn't think he needs as much time as last year.  Matt was speculating only 4 or 5 minutes.  Chris is gunning for a 2:55 marathon this year.

If he runs a 2:55 I think he will take it, which I hope he does.
