I went to my class reunion last summer and I had several guys tell me, "I always wanted to ask you out in high school, but I was too shy." So---as I looked across the banquet hall at their wife making small talk with another wife, I'd say, "Why didn't you ask me out? I would have gone out with you." (whether or not it was true). But my point is, who knows who I would have been with at that class reunion if one of them had actually asked me out years ago. Ask her out. The worst she can say is "no", and luckily she works in another department so you don't have to see her if you don't want to. I like the Cherry 7-up idea. I would be totally charmed by that. A guy who paid attention to what I was saying instead of just staring at my ass!  |

Okay, all jokes aside, this is what I would most likely do: I'd buy a can of diet cherry 7-up, put it on her desk with a note that says "I bought some dinner to go with this, but you'll have to let me know when you can go." You can either sign it or not sign it. Chances are she'll know where it came from, and she knows where to find you... and if she ain't smart enough to figure it out, well then maybe Haley's earlier comment it true. |
