Okay, so here's the deal. I signed up for a Half Marathon in July. Now I am freaking out because I can barely run and I can't even start Hidgon's Half Marathon training plan until I can run 3 miles. The couch to 5k agreesive is a 16 week program. OY VEY! RUNNER"S REMORSE (see training log for definition)

Any ideas or help? I just started a See Mommy Run group in my hometown. We didn't have one.

Any cycling base you have will definitely help achieve a stretch to a 1/2. If it is a big run, the sheer numbers of people will carry you along.

If it is something you want, there is a way to accomplish it!!

I know people are worried, but no fret with my time, I didn't expect to run until today.

I get 4 hours a week in, 3 weeks till the end, that puts me at 12 hours.  I appreciate the worries from everyone.

This 800th BT post of mine is dedicated to the West Coast team.

So, who has run workouts planned for this weekend?

I'm kicking off this Fri night with a run, followed by a Sat morning run.

This challenge has been great motivation for me so far.  Every time I think about slacking off, I remember the team and how I want 100% to appear next to my goal at the end of the month!

Congrats on the 800th!

I am the same way. I was planning on running even though today is an optional day off. Today I had a late lunch of a burger, fries and a beer. When I got home I was really thinking of skipping the run but decided to do it so I wouldn't let the team down.

add 30 more minutes to my total

Uh oh...... Looks like I probably won't make my goals.  I have suffered through shin splints since I started 11/04.  Worked through them mostly, and did my first 10K last weekend (no problems at all).  Since then I ran once during the week and they hurt, and I tried running yesterday and I had to stop from the pain in less than two minutes.  Not sure what is going on but at this rate (which is, essentially, zero), I won't hit 50. Or even 30.

Do what is right to get yourself healthy!!! This whole thing is about expanding personal limits not pushing beyond the breaking point.
