I got in a 8km run today. It was an amazing day out, and I went for a run around a lake close to my house. It was sunny and about 10C. Horray for Victoria weather. After coming here from Saskatoon a year and a half ago I don't know if I could take the cold anymore. I went from -20 for 5 months to 1 day of snow a year, and it doesn't take long before you start to lose your cold toughness

I don't know about you guys.. but it is just the most fantastic day for a run.  The temp is hovering just below zero, the sun is shining, blue sky with a few clouds and no wind to speak of.  Took the dog out with me and she managed to keep me laughing and smiling the whole time we were out.  We met up with a super cute puppy named Lillie and thankfully she had her address and phone number on her tag, so I was able to call her family whilst making my way to her home where they hadn't even noticed she was missing (???)  My watch says we were out for 35mins, but I am going to log 25mins since I did spend some time chatting with Lilles owner.  All in all a brilliant run, lots of fun, and I did my good deed for the day   Hope the weekend is treating you all well.

Hey Paco, it's whatever you put down in your log on line. So if you include your warm up and cool down time in your log then it will be included in the monthly total, if not...then your monthly total will be lower. Glad to see you are back. Hope everyone has your attitude about not disappointing!

Large run in Riding Mountain National Park.  I had discussed this with Crazycanuck over several drinks Thursday night.  Most enjoyable outdoor run I've had this winter.  Traffic was busy enough to keep the wildlife off the road, but saw lots of tracks.  Definately more interesting/challenging than running the flats or the treadmill.  Its 23:06 and my legs are a little wobbly.

 Have a good weak all!

Rolled my "good" ankle on Sat; it's still swollen and black & blue today. I'm taking all the regular measures (R.I.C.E.). Will tape it and test it out tomorrow evening in a 30min run and will get back to you guys. I have a history of bad ankles, but this incident feels a little different than the others.

I'm definitely not at all interested in a loser's avatar! Go Canucks and "others"!

Sorry to hear about the injuries. Hope you recover quickly but more importantly completely. I've updated the spreadsheet as I noticed Paco and Chris Tree had logged some runs which I hadn't included on my spreadsheet. No more red entries! Give yourselves BIG pats on the back especially anyone who's had to run through some inclement weather.

so sorry to hear about the injuries guys.  We love to have you running for this team, but the most important thing is to take the time to heal properly.  So take that time, have those rest days and don;t worry about letting us down.  I think I can speak for everyone when saying that we would support you getting healthy over winning a monthly challenge.  Looking forward to a strong week!

Elly

I'll second that! Your long term health is always more important than a single contest.

Congratulations to all you Canucks and this month's honorary canadians too!

Thanks for the concern and advice, team.

And all this time I thought the challenge was the single-most important thing.

I don't fancy doing the fittings for your wheelchairs or doing the paper work to adapt your home...this OT has enough to do already Keep it healthy! haha!

Crappy about the injuries people. I have really weak ankles too. Years of playing ultimate frisbee (yes it is a real sport ) has completely trashed my ankles. Running at full speed in cleats and cutting and changing direction constantly will trash your body. That how I ended up here, I thought it would be easier on the body and I was looking for a new challenge that didn't require a team. Little did I know that you trash your body in triathlons, you just do it slower . Anyway I say don't run if it's going to do more harm then good. A challenge is a challenge but your season and health is way more important.

Cheers
James
