Subject: RE: Marine Corps Marathon : Official ThreadI'm not a local to DC, but know the weather patterns for this part of the country. Looking at the course, in general, it looks like a big chunk of the running will be Northwest to Southeast. So with winds out of the north, while running the majority of the course, half will be right-quarter headwind, half will be left-quarter tailwind. The rest would be cross-winds. Mile 7-8 range is the last climb, and starting around mile 7 we'll be turning downwind (tailwind) Mile 23 to finish may be in a headwind, as that part of the course runs to the Northwest. Looking at Accuweather.com, their hourly forecast for Sunday doesn't call for any rain until 2:00 PM, and it's a 9% chance. So this mess may not be a factor, until we're driving/flying home. |
