I didn't train X-mas eve or X-max day but ran 10k (6 miles) yesterday. Felt good running outside! The weather has been really mild the last couple of days.

I'm doing the Tremblant 70.3 in June as part of my training for LP. I'll start cleaning up my diet in the next couple of weeks...I hope

Yeah 3rd time..all at placid lol. I think I might do the BT program this time. Im making some good progress with my training right now but I know I'll need to follow plan to keep me on track as the training gets longer.

i dont think I'll do any...I dont really like races. i love to train, I love the life style, but i dont like the stress of actually racing. I sign up for 1 big race each year and thats pretty much it. I'll probably volunteer at syracuse 70.3 if any of you are doing that one.

Thats a great song to sit by the fire and have a beer too...but a horrible song to run or train too lol
there was a dj set up in lake placid that had all this old (80's-90's) great dance music he was playing. I asked him what he used as his criteria for his song list and he said 90-120 beats/min was the best for running

this was one of them i think

Was the DJ by the horse grounds?! That's Marty from Fitwerx - in 2013 he drove from MA on the morning of the race, set up, played and then slept in his car for a few hours before heading home. He did something similar last year. That's pretty impressive dedication to your customers!

Yup, he's a superstar. (Fitwerx is one of New England's premier bike fitting specialists)

He has done IMLP and loves his customers. I was passing the horse grounds in '13 and heard him yell at me "Deb! where have you been?! I was looking for you!"

Made me feel like a right slacker lol

Yup I do a New Years run with my friends on the beach every year. Followed by a breakfast. Fun tradition.

Also, I've signed up for an LP training camp. I've never done a training camp before but I picked the PRS camp and just pulled the trigger just in case anyone else wants to join me up there.

Happy New Year everyone.

I am doing 15 miles for 2015. My wife and I are doing it for fun at the state park. Invited a few relatives and friends. No takers. At least I have a 50% chance of coming in first. I will be on the podium!!!

Someone mentioned to me it always rains some part of the day or all day during Lake Placid. Is this true?

Always? No. Is it a possibility? Yes.

I've been up there for the last 6(?) years, and it's rained 3/6. Everything from a light sprinkle to downpour. I've also seen days when it's been hot (HOT) and no rain in sight.

Yep...ive been up for last 4 and its run the full spectrum. '11 and '12 were freaking hot...lots of dehydration and walking wounded on the marathon. '13 was kind of cloudy, cooler with a few showers...and this past year there was a freakin' thunderstorm from hell on the bike course in willmington notch.

I am training to be prepared for rain. I am hopeful there won't be lightening on the swim like this year.

I am running Boston in April and Ironman Lake Placid is in July. I have been told that it is ambitious to think about doing an IM so close to a marathon due to the recovery time. Any suggestions?
