Its the best dang picture anyone has ever taken of me...so I'm gonna brag on myself. About a year ago I was 60 pounds heavier, and unable to run .5 miles. This week I ran 4.25. I can actually see real changes on real people doing things that I'm trying to do. Thanks to everyone that had the guts (Or used to have the guts) to put their before and after pictures up. I hope this isn't a thread that dies too soon. I was going to take today off and nap and watch football, but after looking at the pictures I'm off to do a quick run, (Not so quick, my run isn't quick, it's really not even brisk, but hey it's a run just the same!) The best thing is that by doing this we hopefully are an inspiration to our childern. Drive by any school today and look at the kids, too many of them are terribly out of shape at an early age. |

After: September 2004, 3 weeks before my first sprint triathlon in Richmond. At Hilton Head with 2 of my 4 kids pictured. Difference? 62 pounds, 8 inches off the waist, BP 160s/100s down to 120s/70s, RHR high 90s down to 60. And, I feel like a god. "Mastering others is strength. Mastering yourself, true power." LaoTzu. Working on getting those extra pounds off, although admittedly, many of them were there before surgery too! I am at work so I dont have alot of pictures handy but here is one of me last feb riding in the Chilli Hilly in WA state. I'm excited to see what my after pics will look like. I need to get from 240 to about 175. Since I have been on BT I am down to 231 though! If you look closely you can see beads of sweat on my man boobs. I don't have a "Before" pic. Pictures had to be taken at such a distance to fit me in the frame that you could not distinguish my features. So I never kept any. |

The first one is May 2003 about 3 month before I started working out and changing my life style. I didn't initially start out intending to complete a Tri, in fact when a co-worker suggested one as a fitness challenge this past January, I told her she was crazy!!! Well it turns out I was the crazy one. The second photo is Aug 2004, 90lbs less of me and completing my first sprint tri.. Ok the photos are in reverse order....
