We have oenophiles, chocoholics, $15 drunks, people that get "excited" over an apple and a person that eats GU at their desk. We have ladies with Glocks and at least one that doesn't eat or drink for 2 days and wonders "Why was that run so bad?". Yeppers, This is the best weight loss group of Triathletes I have ever heard of and it sure sounds like a country song.... Actually, it was more like $9.75 drunk, I had a $20 before going in, when I left there was $4 and some coinage in the morning and I know that part of the initial $15 was spent on Darts! |

I've decided to take the rest of the wk off, to get back to default settings starting on Monday. Besides, I read if a plateau is in works aside from kicking it up a notch another sensible thing is to step back. Since, I've been kicking it up like dust I'm settling down to help recovery. On another note, had the most _od awful hangover this morning. Thought I'd go and watch the Ohio st vs. Dayton game (Basketball) last night, ended up doing shots of 151 and a whole bunch of draught beer (they were only $1 for 16 oz.), can you imagine being sh_tfaced after only $15... JOsh-you're a cheap date, something to be proud of! Although 151...esshhh. Were they flaming 151 shots or just straight up? Nothing says, druken stupidity more than lighting your drink on fire and then gulping it down! Been there, done that....now I get exicted over apples and Gu shots at my desk, how life changes! So I hopped on the scale this morning, 139...no shock there I've been between 138-140 since January! Oh, except for the week I came back from a business trip of junk eating, drinking and little exercise I was 137 for a few days (of course not on a wednesday!). I don't understand that, my body just likes f-in with me I think! Happy Friday all, go Michigan State!!
Something to be proud of, Yes!!!! Considering all my time is either training, or school (Official transcripts 4.0 ! yeah!). Besides, also considering I'm currently unavailable for work, if she's paying... One last note, you know your a Triathlete if you get snot-slingin' drunk on $9.75, and no, they weren't flaming. I had to hide the shot (singular) in about 20 oz. of coke, and it was still strong enough to take the paint off a car!. |

It was a very bad week workout wise and had tons to drink Wednesday night. I'm surprised I did as well as I did. All in all, not a bad month What do you mean bad wk workout wise, you lost 3 lbs. Most everybody else here struggles @ .2 of a lb. You did awesome. |

I've noticed that when I eat only my alloted number of calories without stuffing my face on junk, that emptiness (loneliness) in me that I've been trying to shut up with all that crap food that is now making me have to diet kind of comes back to the surface and I feel like crap/depressed a lot... So that this week I've basically had one good day and then a bad day because I come home and feel like and rely on my old "emptiness stuffer"... Any ideas what I can do about this? ETA: This is also a rather stressful time of the year as there are 2 weeks left to my semester and I am starting to freak out because of finals and lets just say that the material you see at the end of the semester is SO much harder than what you see at the beginning!! Well, I might be alone on this, but... If you need to stuff your face, at least grab the healthy stuff. salad (watch the dressings), fruit, nuts, protein shakes or at the very least WATER!!! |

ETA: This is also a rather stressful time of the year as there are 2 weeks left to my semester and I am starting to freak out because of finals and lets just say that the material you see at the end of the semester is SO much harder than what you see at the beginning!! Steph- I get depressed out of the blue. One minute I'm fine and the next I can't see anything positive about my life and myself. I'm just sitting and staring into space- what's weird about it is that there doesn't seem to be any apparent reason for me feeling like that. My cure? I used to eat anything as long as it came in large amounts which in turn made me feel even worse about myself. Now if my depression/ sadness happens I'm listening to my favourite music which is very positive and brings back good memeories/ feelings. If that doesn't help I'm trying to talk it over with a friend. When things are really bad chances are I'll eat loads but afterwards I'm thinking "That's ok. Happens to everybody". My belly sticks out again- decided to ignore him. 28 days to my birthday and trip to Pars - only 28 days Edited by Cead_Mille_Failte 2008-03-29 9:52 AM |

ETA: This is also a rather stressful time of the year as there are 2 weeks left to my semester and I am starting to freak out because of finals and lets just say that the material you see at the end of the semester is SO much harder than what you see at the beginning!! The Food Is Comfort thing is very, very hard to deal with. Food is supposed to feel pleasurable and good, after all we probably wouldn't be around if our caveman ancestors turned up their noses and refused to eat. So, we're programmed to LIKE food. This is not a bad thing. The bad comes in when you take the Food is Good feelings and transfer that into Food will make me Feel Good when I feel so damn bad. I've had to work really, really hard on this myself - and here's the thing. Food is NOT the only thing that makes you feel good. Find some other stuff. Reward yourself often with non-food things. Massage is great, but as you said not something you can do every day. How about, buy a favorite group's CD and listen to it often? Long hot shower? Bubble bath? Reading a favorite book? Looking at beautiful mountains? Viewing art? Making art? Painting your nails? Smelling flowers? When rose season is on I'll walk down my street and stop at one house that has amazing rosebushes and just smell them. Heavenly and doesn't cost me a cent. Find things that make YOU feel good and then do at least one of those every day. You can feed your soul without feeding your face. (Yeah, I know it sounds a little corny, so what?) I also recommend a book called the "Joy Diet" by Martha Beck if you like the self-help thing. And, if you feel you are really clinically depressed, get help. I should have in 2004 instead of laying in bed and stuffing my face for nearly a year before pulling myself out of it. |

Unless you don't want to lose weight, I mean... come on! What you're doing seems to be working. Sure, you deviated from the "workout" plan, but something you're doing is just right. Next step, don't lose that power to LOSE! As saling suggested maybe since you're down, start paying close attention to what you eat, and try and kick your metabolism into high gear. This way you can give yourself an extra boost. 210's would be sweet! |

That seems to have done it for me. |
