Tubes, CO2, new inflater, body glide... This sport hemorages cash. Blech.... I tried on some arm warmers for cycling. I have to admit, they felt kind of sexy. All tight, showing off the guns.... Kind of felt "fast", too.... SEXY? Duuuuude. Walked into a TOPpage w/out realizing it. Edited by 1stTimeTri 2008-10-13 4:54 PM |

![]() Aikidoman - 2008-10-13 5:53 PM I will always remember the best pizza I ever had.... It was the "perfect storm" for the perfect pizza. Never to be duplicated... Situation, person, conditions.... wow... x2. That particular pizza parlor consistently served the best pizza I've ever had, but the one particular night I visited it...dang...burned in my memory forever. And probably will never be duplicated. |

Does it only hurt when you run? TheSchwamm - 2008-10-13 5:44 PM wurkit_gurl - 2008-10-13 4:41 PM Speaking of running, how are you feeling, wurkit? (runs and hides) Haven't tried to run on it since before seeing the doctor. I'm going to give it until the end of the month and then try some super-short distances on the track at the high school (since it's squishy). Mentally, I feel 'blah'. I think the constant high from running all the time wore off super-quick and I crashed. Yup. The day after it first started hurting, it was still a bit tender, and hurt if I had to walk up or down a hill (I went camping that weekend). But just walking around, biking, etc doesn't bother it. That's good at least! |

Hopefully that is indicative of the fact that the doc was right and that it's tendonitis, or a related strain - ie, not a tear of any kind. |

Hopefully that's the case, but if it's still bugging you when you start up running again, call the doctor right away! i'm still mad at myself for kind of delaying my whole situation as much as i did. |

Meet people who are friends of friends and such. It happens. Case in point: my current situation. Friend of a friend saw me out hanging with a group watching the UFC fights and asked about me. I had no clue at the time that I was "being watched." I'm not out there actively trying to meet people, but if it happens it happens. Oh, I had a hilarious ex-encounter Saturday too.I know I did it once before. But since DC is so transitory, it gets influxes of new people every so often. So who knows. Besides, I don't do the whole "meet guys at bars" thing. I almost NEVER get hit on at bars, oddly enough. If I had friends that I did stuff with frequently, it'd be one thing. But I don't. And I'm sick of just swirling around in the same small group of people at my church. I DON'T want to date anyone from my specific church. Ok, this is being dug up from a few pages back, but this explains my exact situation. That's exactly why I ended up doing the Match.com thing. So far I've met a few girls that nothing is/was going to work out with. One girl I thought I liked, but turned out to be way crazy. And the girl I'm currently seeing/kinda seeing. I don't think it's the best way to go, but it seems to work, and gets you to meet people you might otherwise not have met. The friend of a friend of a friend thing still only puts you in front of so many people. |

Sweet, the Overlord is here! Overlord, I have a running question for you. If on my runs between miles 3-4 my left foot gets a bit on the numb side and my calf feels like it's really swollen, what should I do? The feeling generally goes away if I walk a bit. I used to think it was because my speedlaces were too tight, but now I'm not sure. Any suggestions? |

I used to think it was because my speedlaces were too tight, but now I'm not sure. Any suggestions? Certainly sounds like a lace issue, but I would think that's more the shin/front of leg. Could be a tendon issue, perhaps, or maybe arches. I know when I wore boots all the time, I used to get numbness in my big toe and it felt like I had beat my feet with a baseball bat. I got better arch supports, problem went away. Might try stretching the calves a little more, or maybe a new shoe. What are you wearing? |
