Eek! Wait, that's plenty of time, right?

More than enough.........to get ready for a 5k Laughing

Just checked the website again, no athlete guide yet and still the old courses on there. Curious how late they can wait to announce changes?

I have been checking as well. The official IMTX Facebook page shows the changes are being finilized. That was 4 days ago someone asked.

KSH - 2012-03-29 8:53 PM Well I have been coming to terms that I probably won't have the race I had hoped for. My longest run going into this race MIGHT be 2:30... MAYBE. And for me, that will be only around 13 miles. I am completely under-trained to run a marathon. I mean really, what idiot goes to RUN a marathon on ONE 13 miler in trainer? Oh wait... THIS IDIOT. Oh well, it is what it is. Can't fix it. I can't up my miles more than roughly 10% per week because my knees are already hurting and both my feet are in pain (one I hurt in January, the other in February). Otherwise, I'm a swimming machine and my cycling is so-so. The cycling is getting better. So I'm going to go out, do what I can do race day, suffer through a death march on the run... and consider doing this race again if I don't reach my goal time of close to 14 hours. Anyways, the race is close for all of us! Let's all keep training and doing what we can do to make it to the starting line AND finish line!

You will be okay.  Your body has done this beofre and will remember what to do.  Just do what you can do.  :-)  Let's have FUN!

Looking forward to seeing you soon.  Can you believe it has been so long?!?!

Well I just need to screw my head on straight and ditch the expectations I had. I need to feel lucky to get to toe the start line.

Yes, I will get to see you again!!!!! So cool!

It's nice seeing an old tri friend... when so many have long since quit. But we are still here!

Yesterday was a disaster. Long swim canceled due to lightning and the pool shut down.

Got a massage in the morning and it hurt, felt like she was using way more pressure than usual. Figured out what was going on fast when I rode the trainer and what I thought was allergies is really a nasty cold. My body just ached. Bailed at 40+ miles.

Slept good, maybe try for my long swim this morning, not sure about the long run I had planned for today.

Who is using a speed suit/skin suit for the swim?  I was thinking about it but don't know how much good it would do.  Anyone have any experience?  Second hand experience?

Rode 100 miles today with my client who is also doing IMTX. His first 100 miler... and I haven't ridden one since 2008! We had great weather, even it was a little windy and a little warm at the end. But hey, our bike course will be a little windy and hot... right? We made sure not to draft and we took quick rest stops. Overall I felt good and ran 15 minutes after I was done. The run felt good, but my HR was impossible to get below zone 2.

I rode my first ever Century ride today too!  2700’ of climbing according to mapmyride.  Temp of 80 degrees and headwind at 17 with bigger gusts at least for the last few hours.  Still managed a 14.6 pace, which is good for me.  Looks like I’ll be making that bike cutoff time at Ironman.

I did my last 20 miler run before Boston marathon (April 16th) today.  My last long training run before IM TX will be the marathon.  I am tired.  Are we almost to taper?!?!?

March 2012, was a solid month of Ironman training for me!

Swam 38,000 yards (10 hrs, 45 mins).
Biked 588 miles (38.50 hrs).
Ran 56 miles (10 hrs).

Obviously the swim and bike are going to be my strength. I still have pain in my left and right feet, and my left knee is not happy with me. Oddly, it hurts more to walk than it does to run though, with regards to the foot pain. So I'm sure I'll be doing the "Ironman death shuffle" for the run. Ha! Otherwise, I have let go of my dream finishing time (14 hour-ish). I'm going to go out and finish this darn race, and that's that.

I missed some swims, but I think I am primed for a big month in April. I am looking for some big bikes to have a better run at this years race. I switched to on course nutrition this weekend and I did not have any problems. Now I plan to push along and put some good quality column up this month. I would like to be close to 40000m swim, 700bike, and 190run. Maybe I will throw in 3 hours grilling for the heck of it!

Hey everyone!

Hope all's good!  Quick question for you guys.  I've been using mapmyride to do my routes and see my elevation, etc.  However, today, I came across veloroutes.org and saw that my elevation was like completely different (i.e. double of what mapmyride said it was

I really want to believe the veloroute website... I do tend to think that my route is more difficult than what mapmyride says it is, but if any of you have any insight whatsoever (maybe you have a GPS watch w/ elevation?), that would be awesome!! THANKS!
