Hello again, fellow IMCDA'ers! I would definitley be down for some local help with the bike course...me and 4 freinds are coming up from vegas for the race, and I will be getting there wednesday before the race. Me and one freind wanted to at least ride easy the US95 section, to get a feel for it (or maybe some of it...gotta keep the legs fresh!) and definitley some swims and a light run or two. I sent a PM to a few of you locals for some more details about the bike course...talk to you all soon, and I hope your training is going well...I biked 85 miles Sunday, and did my long swim/long run yesterday...3000 yards in lake mead with 2-3' swells...fun! Then a 14 mile run, with that same wind in the face the second half. Tired, but these are the biggest weeks, that will hopefully pay off on June 24th. Looking forward to spending my 39th birthday with 2000+ ironman freinds!

A group of us from my tri club from here in Seattle are heading over next weekend for a training camp.  The lake is definilty too cold to swim in now but is there any other nearby lakes close to 55 or more now?

the only place I could think of that might be close to 55. West of Spokane just off of I 90 there are a few small lakes that could be warmer. don't know the names or how to find out the temp besides walking up and sticking my hand in to see how warm it is. there is about 4 lakes out there. Medical lake is the name of one.

Also PM me for a course tour and we will set up a date and time.

If you are talking the 19th weekend, even CDA might get close, just looked and, it broke 50 yesterday!  It's supposed to get cold in the evening the next couple of days but, this weekend going into next week, they are showing air temps up in the high 70's and low 80's, I have Monday off, I may have to give it a go.

FWIW, a buddy of mine has a lake place at one of the smaller and shallower lakes, and it's temp is within a degree of what CDA is doing right now.

Hello CDA racers! My wife and I just got done with St George.  Her first.  She made the ruthless swim and was pulled at mile 66 of the bike.  She's back in  the saddle and snagged a foundation slot for CDA.  So now we're here to follow along.

I did cda last year and can't wait to be back as a fan.  Good luck to everyone and stay strong through these big weeks ahead

Right on!! Might as well cash in on that fitness. Tell her to leave the wind in St George though.

Sorry about your wifes IMSG race. The fact that she made it through the swim is amazing. Best of luck to her in CDA, glad she was able to snag a spot. Hope we are facing much better conditions on race day.

What's everyone got planned for the weekend? I've got another big volume weekend. 120 bike / 5 run on saturday and a very hilly trail 15 miler Sunday. Looks to be great weather though so I'm looking forward to it. Only a few big weekends left. Stay safe out there everyone.

Flyboy - 2012-05-07 1:21 PM Thought I'd throw this out there for you guys traveling from out of the area.  It's kind of become a tradition that I take out of town folks on a bike course tour, usually on Thursday or Friday before the race.  I can fit 4 people in my vehicle so first come, first served.  If there are more than that who would like to follow along in another vehicle that's fine too.  I can point out different things to watch for on the course on race day since I get to train on it all the time.  Let me know if you're interested and happy training.  Oh...and ride LOTS of hills this month!

I would love to have a course tour. My brother-in-law and I will be getting there Thurs night, so Friday would work best for me, if there is still room.

I looked on the Weather Channel site this morning and saw it's 29 degrees in Coeur d'Alene this morning.  It's almost mid-May - when the heck does it warm up in the great Pacific Northwest?  Maybe I'm just spoiled by our North Carolina weather...

Hey don't jinx us like that. I'd take race day temps in the 30's rather than 90's any day!

The last couple of days have been chilly in the morning but daytime temps have been pretty decent and we should see high 70's this weekend and 80+ by Monday!

That would be great.  My truck is full now so any other drivers would be welcome.

Sounds like you are really getting after it.....we have a 120 miler in a couple weeks.

This weekend we are changing it up and going for a 90 mile MT Bike ride.  White rim trail in Canyonlands National Park. Should be fun/tough day.

Enjoy the ride!!

Oh yeah, I can hold 4 others in relative comfort in our RAV4, we have put our 3 sons back there for extended drives and the short one is 6'3".

I'm riding 100 tomorrow followed by a 1 hour run.  Sunday is 3600m ows, 2 hour ride, and 1 hour run.  Then a lot of laying on the couch and eating.

Anyone know if they are planning to do the ironkids run? I don't see it on the event schedule. When I looked at last years it was on Thursday.
