schmize - 2012-08-01 5:04 PM 2112  ... Perfect Palindrome.  Almost as good as "racecar" or even better, "a man, a plan, a canal, panama"

I prefer "racecar" myself.

OK Folks quick question for the peeps that have done the  bike course. I was on the computrainer this morning and did the first 25 miles of the course and (out and back). When on the out and back I thought you go over the crappy bridge and then hill and then make a turn around right at the enterance of the community on the left BUT on the computrainer you past the comminity and climb another hill then it flattens out and aid station is on top of the hill and then there is the turn around. I watched the  youtube videos and the turn around is at the entrance of the community. WHich one is right.

You're computrainer is right. You go all the way to the end of the road and turn around.

That was one question I had is that bridge still crappy? I slowed down a ton on that and lost all my speed from the hill.

I ride that section of the out and back often and don't think the bridge is so terrible.

@Livestrong:  The climb on the way out is a little deceiving because you climb for a bit and it flattens out making you think it's over then it starts up again.  However, this hill is not that bad at all, the toughest part is a small segment coming back that is pretty steep but thankfully short.  Just spin your way to the top of both and you should be fine.

ETA:  I just had to look it up, I had never noticed that "little community" on the left when you are climbing that hill before.  I guess I am so busy focusing on getting to the top never looked to my left.  Had to check it out on Google maps to make sure we were talking about the same thing.

I only noticed the community because on the IM LOu youtube bike course video  he says this is the turn around and  spray painted on the road  says turn around right by that community. Thast why i was confused on the computrainer that we went past that and up anoth hill to the aid station.

The bridge is not bad! 42 is worse. Be very very careful on the out and back. A lot of stupid people try to go too fast in a very narrow section. There were a couple accidents, including a bike collision with one of the support motorcycles.

24 days and counting.  Do you people want to get together Friday night before the dinner / manadatory meeting? Has anyone made reservations for dinner anywhere on Saturday? I remember last year it was hard to get reservations (at least early reservation) for that night. Luckily we found an Olive Garden but I can't remember where that was.  Go figure.  Laughing

Last year, a group of us from BT got together at the Starbucks that is in the Civic Center (where the welcome dinner is held) for about an hour before the dinner on Friday.

I am going to eat somewhere else before the dinner and just get a seat for the meeting. The food at IM FL was not that good and WOW talk about sardins in a can feeling when sitting down. I am going to be with some first time  ironmaners/ironchickas who want to the whole Ironman experiance so I might get the short end of the stick and eat water downed sauce and pasta lol. Oh if you need to go to the bathroom make sure you go before you eat no way you going to get out till the whole thing is over.
