Not a fan of animals.  A small kitty over a dog any day though

Big Appa - 2012-08-07 3:22 PM I am going to wear my headphones while I run on my 3x a week marathon training schedual.

Oh yeah? Well I'm going to do open turns in the pool whilst glaring at everyone else with a stank face scowl.

That's because you're a Lochte fan.

The wife doesn't like him and doesn't understand the fuss.  She says he sounds dumb and his "bling" is tasteless and he is not as good looking as everyone seems to think.

I have to say, I think he's dreamy...

I am a bigger fan of that one guy who didn't win everything but the one thing he did win he was so giddy.

I'd hit it.

Oh yeah!  That's the other thing she mentioned.  Not a fan of the "grill".

How do those things work anyway?  Are they like "bubba" teeth?  Glue on?  Do they replace bad teeth?  Do you eat with them.  other than wearing your pants 18" below your arse, probably to dumbest fashion trend EVER.

Yeah, I think pretty much "bubba" teeth with precious stones and gold. Sexy.

I feel a headache coming on.  Not happy about it.  I still need to go to Sam's club and get another workout in.  This better not ruin it.

So the wife it talking about seperation...  Not THAT kind...  But wants to move to LA a bit more permanently and visit home on the weekends.

Stuff like that worries me.  Seperation leads to being attracted to what's in front of you and available.  Especially when the time together is just dealt with catching up on chores or bills or regular life instead of fun.  Got to have both.

Sigh.

I would advise against it maybe move with her and take a lesser job? It might suck but being away for long periods of time in this kind of situation can lead to some bad things.

I'm not worried about it for a while.  We adore each other.  But if it stretched into a year?  I can just see it now.  Going back and forth every weekend turns to every other, turns to once a month, turns to one trip over two months...  5-6 calls a day (like it is now) and dozens of texts turns into fewer and fewer.

Not that anyone WANTS to drift apart.  But it happens.

Oh, and she is trying to hook me up selling art.  She WANTS me there, just not before I can land a job.  Which is sort of funny, because she doesn't have a job there yet...

Talk to her about it. I know she'll understand!

Oh, she does.  I feel bad for her.  She can't fully persue her dream unless we move there.  Trust me, I would LOVE to move there.  I would move there YESTERDAY...  But she also knows I'm supporting us right now, and I need to be working...  At the same time, she can't stand to be away from me.  So it's hard on her.

I still think about cashing in one of my 401k's and just jumping in with both feet. "All in"

10% penalty on top of the taxes makes that a last resort move. And if ou're over 35, the make up time is passed. You'll (assuming a historical yield of 8% in t market) never make that back.

Equity in your home? Although, from what I understand, Vegas is still in the toilet for real estate.

On the plus side, you've got no kids (I think). So you can t.ake the risk more easily.

It's not for me. Despite my persona, I avoid lifestyle risk like that

2900 and I gain, 2400 and I hold pat.  Trying to do under 2k and it SUCKS and it's still slow going.

I wish I could see what it's like to s/b/r at 165 instead of 230 maybe go to the moon and do a tri?  Plus not wind resistance...  But the space suit would be cumbersom.

Me too, but get jealous of people who do it and succeed.  I can dream.  But I am way too practical and we are NOT selling the house.  Rent it for sure and get another in CA.

I keep chicken s#itting out of opening a business. I know I could do it, but can't stomach the risk. Hell, I'm semi-retired at 51 practically working for myself with little pressure or oversight. But, my friend has an Ace hardware store in Virgina and is killing it. I know I could work that as whole areas around here drive 20+ miles to go to Home Depot.

Too skinny!  No 165 for you, mister!!!  When I ride and do one long continuous uphill .. like 25 miles .. carting this carcass along is exhausting and horrific!

no, I know.  I'm shooting for 205.  I'm just saying, I wonder what it would feel like to weigh as much as your "typical" triathlete and s/b/r.

I remember dropping 20 lbs when playing volleyball and suddenly felt 100% quicker and was able to cover court when lighter.  I feel a huge difference going from 240 to 220 on my body during a run.  I bet 165 would feel amazing.
