StaceyK - 2013-02-14 7:48 AM Ok going looking for new bike shoes tomorrow to see if it solves the burning feet and numb toes (a lovely expensive way to solve the problem). Does anyone have suggestions?

I have read many people saying that they add different inner soles into their bike shoes. I have very high arches and find in general shoes I need to add inner soles for support is this something that I need to possibly look at for my bike shoes?

Hi Stacy - nice to meet you

I would suggest custom insoles before new shoes.  You may find in the end that you need new shoes, but whether in your old cycling shoes or new ones (or running shoes or hiking boots or ski boots or hockey skates, etc), I cannot say enough about custom insoles.  I'd bet my last shinny penny that the custom insoles would fix your numb foot issue...  I get all mine made by a cetrified pedorthist who specializes in sports, maybe look and ask around for one if your area?  Good luck!

rrrunner - 2013-02-14 11:12 AM AAAAAAAAARGH!!!!! Just got word that my sister and BIL and two kids are coming for a long weekend. The third weekend of the month is crazy busy for us with church stuff, plus I've got a 3 hour ride and an hour-and-a-half run to fit in. Not to mention I'm not prepared to feed four extra people!!!!!!! Yell

I have found that alarm clocks at 5:00 am, combined with me wandering about the house in jammers, muttering about pool time/cranking out 3 hours on the trainer in the living room is incentive for people to find other arrangements. I don't gaurantee success with this tactic, but it is fun none the less.

If that doesn't work try getting yourselves a number of large dogs that slobber a lot and then just for good measure let them sniff people that come into your house. It works a treat. Generally the only people that stay with us now are my M&D and then it's normally foe no longer than a night or two.

Asalzwed - 2013-02-14 11:58 AM I've been a little under the weather if you will, so I took some time to catch up on a few things including walking through breaking my bike down for travel and then building it back up with my instructor in my bike class. It was cake. I also thoroughly cleaned my bike up and overhauled the front hub. Holy crap, I had no idea how nasty a bike can get riding in the winter. My chain was NASTY. I thought it was a painted black chain. As it turns out it's not.

ha! Surprise!!  Being able to break down and rebuild your bike is a bitchin skill to have, salt. Nice work.

Doesn't Seattle have the Thunderbirds (AHL or ECHL...)? Then you just have to follow the team they farm to...We have the Stockton Thunder (ECHL)--sadly, they go to Edmonton...Clint follows Edmonton just because of that, though he is a Jersey Devils fanatic (weirdo)...Me, I like my Canucks, the Penguins, and the Coyotes...and formerly the Thrashers, before they were lame and moved to Winnepeg. Boo.

Sorry to hijack for hockey...back as you all were.

I'm sure not too many of us mind the hijack.  Hockey rules. AND Ryan Suter's cousin just got hired on at my piglet's place of work... I told him we need to have a 'welcome new employees' party, and have the wild game strategically playing in the background so as to strike up that 'free ticket hookup' convo...

Sorry to mess up your list Jayne but you need to take me off the racing list. I spent my entry fee on stuff from swim smooth instead. I think I need to get a second job to pay for my tri habit.

Sorry, I just ate half of a chicken fried steak (3oz), lean cut, dipped in beaten egg white and floured/spiced, pan-grilled. However, I also had a root beer to make up for the ridiculous health substitutions I made with that steak (delicious though it was).

At midnight.
