Manatee Express - 2008-01-06 6:57 PM Did anybody watch American Gladiators tonite? When they fall now they land in the water and they also have a portion where you swim under fire. Not real relevant but I haven't helped alot on the post count. k

Still waiting for it to come on over here.  Looks like I'll be swimming really late tonight

Nope, I didn't see that. (Didn't even know it's still on anymore, actually. LOL)

Swim under fire? That would be cool. (Provided you stayed UNDER the fire, that is.)

As for the post count - every little bit helps. LOL

I was reaching above the stove for a cook book and I lent  in too far and caught my stomach on the top of the wok. Everything just seems to pop out on me.

Okay, not to sound dumb, Amerian Gladiators?  Whats this?

American Gladiators is a TV show that was around in the eighties I think. It has been brought back by one of the networks. 2 competitors play against gladiators in crazy violent games. Its cheesy but fun to watch.

Hubby and I went down to Galveston to find these guys, Sandhill Cranes.  They come down every winter and hang out.  These guys didn't seem to mind me hanging out the window watching and snapping photos.  It was a beautiful day!

The good news.... wait for it..... I SWAM!!!!!!

The not so good news... ummm it didnt feel great... I might have to take up that offer to reduce my goal... I should have easily hit 2-3k but instead I had to fight my way through 1.5... a bit disappointing after last month....

But I SWAM!

What great photos! Those cranes are BIG! I don't think I've ever seen them before. (They must not come to NC.)

We get an occasional blue heron, but not often.

Nice pictures!

YAY, CAT SWAM!

Personal opinion: Yes, I do think you should reduce your goal. (If you leave it at 30k, you're going to want to finish it. That means you're going to push yourself, and that may stress your body a lot.)

Or, you can just "leave your goal as is" right now and wait a bit. We know you have this stuff going on, so it's ok if you reduce your goal later a little later this month.

Or, how about if you aim for swims of about 1-1.5k each time (rather than 2-3k). Would that help?

Just some ideas for you. But yes, we're all fine with your reducing your goal, or even being a Cheerleader (with pom poms of course!)

Glad to hear that you swam. Not so glad to hear that it didn't feel great.

D.

1350 yds on the books for today.  I managed to drag myself out for an am swim at the Y.  It was nice.  Only one other person in the pool and they finished well before I did.  I plan to go back on Wednesday am, though, I might go again tomorrow, depends on how I feel.
