And in 2 minutes time, the June announcement already has 11 views. (And NO, they are NOT all mine! :P )

Hee hee. It was me.

Oh, wait - they only count posts - not views? Well, gosh, I'm gonna stop reading and just keep posting mindless things.

I just did my fist bigger group ride with pace line skills and all.

Ummmmm, I have a LOT to learn about that stuff.  If an angel named Caroline hadn't hung back and let me just pace  with her I would have made it a solo ride!  She said she'd ride with me any time to help build my skills so I can get comfortable doing the larger rides.  I would really like to try a century next season but I definitely need to gain more comfort riding on the rear wheel of the guy in front of me!

The girl that organized he ride gave out a bunch of freebies at the end too--I got a huge container of Heed powder and another bottle of Hammer gel for mixing up as well as a couple of Optima bars (had one, it was great!)

I'm still not comfortable riding in large groups! I can handle pacelines, but not big, wide packs. I freak out in those situations. Boy am I tired now. Over 4 hours on the bike today. Over 76 miles. Yay me! Now it's time to torture myself on the foam roller. Have a great evening!
For me a big group is more  than 2 people.  There wee about 20 folks there but I wound up 1:1 with Caroline the whole time.  She really helped me out and was very patient with my anxiety/bike handling--o lack thereof

You had a geat ride today!

D001 - 2008-05-17 8:30 PM For the June Challenge, I'm thinking of something called "Move-it or Lose-it." In other words, if you don't move-it, your team will lose-it. Bike, swim, run, and "other" activities all allowed. (Other includes strength training, dancing, anything else you want.) I know it's only mid-May.... but I'm working on writing it all up.
I like it. You're a challenge junky. Admit it.
Um. Was it supposed to be a secret or something? LOL OK, I wrote up the announcement. It's been posted. (Yes, I know it's early. As you noted, I'm a challenge junkie. The thought of not having a June challenge gave me an anxiety attack. LOL)

plus it's been building up for a while -

She sounds wonderful!!! My bike handling skills arent great... but neither is my general hand eye co-ordination

I hope you get the chance to take her up on her offer to go for a ride sometime... with a bit of practice Im sure you will master all the skills!

Goodness sakes, girlfriend. I'd say it's about rest time! Hope it renews & refreshes you. (Me? Oh, yes - I'm not so good at rest days either, but I feel one coming on...I had a great weekend of training!)

I think I'm going to go buy flowers for my front baskets--but that means I have to acutally take care of them and I'm not very good at that.  Gardening = I'll plant it but God has to care for it cause I rarely (if ever) do...Lots of stretching on tap too.  I may go to the gym to sit in the whirlpool, have to leave all swim gear home so I'm not tempted to do anything

I should stop giving you a hard time...sooner or later, someone is gonna look at me to run one of these and that is NOT a good idea. Too much of a dingbat, I am.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

No, I think it's a GOOD idea.

Kristen for Challenge Organizer!

Hm. Maybe I should set up a poll: "What month should Kristen be Challenge Queen?"

Lets see. I vote... Never. I would totally mess it up. I don't have Queen skills...more like Court Jester?

Well, we could find a place for you. Beth is the official greeter/hostess. You could be the official court jester.

Oh yeah, and I'm keeper of the cattle prod.

does that mean they don't require you to wear a swim suit in the whirlpool? Wink

Artemis - 2008-05-16 1:14 PM Work is really bad today. Lots of problems with someone in the lab. Totally going to open some wine when I get home.

ok this is pushing the envelope - as far as posting goes...but thought that you could use this little warm and fuzzy fellow:

hehe!

hope that helps...of course, not saying you should not go home and open that bottle of wine....but if it is a cabernet...wanna share? mmmmmmmmmmm I love cabs!

That's awesome.  Definitely made me smile. Thanks.

good - as that is why I sent it!

Jen!

any news on your test results?

No.  Called the doctor's office yesterday and today.  She wasn't in yesterday morning when I called or this afternoon when I called.  I'm pretty annoyed about it.

I say be gone with that doc! two days and no return calls! THAT IS SOOO WRONG!!

Up early to go to a wedding with a brunch reception.  Should be interesting.  Do you dance and stuff at 11 in the morning?  Guess I'll find out.

Big packs can always be scary ~ especially if you are unfamiliar with the riders...On a different note: am I the only one here that is not familiar with a foam roller!?! what are you speaking of!

We put down some mulch, need about 10 more bags...planted some pretty flower boxes but I need a few more boxes for the rest of the petunias and vinca...We're going to put some show off roses around the back deck.  They bloom early and keep blooming til the first hard frost, have minimal scent so they won't attract bees and will cost about the same as putting down lattice while looking prettier (umm it would be the same if we only needed 6, we need 11 of them).  It's going to be pretty when it's finished...then we can open the pool up and have a Nibbs party VA--and anyone else that can make it from the wilds of where you all live!

I was once at a spin class where a girl put one of those on the spin bike and filled it up with Ghiradelli...then leaned into her basket to eat when she wanted to, it was hysterical cause our bikes were in a circle in one corner of the fitness center at the time and we could all see her
