Most everyone is quiet...so are you doing well? Struggle or what? I'm doing fine with the food. I've been cooking dinner more often and am pretty ok almost every day with the no soda. Every once in awhile, I really crave a Diet Pepsi, but I haven't caved in yet! My weight is not so good. It's creeping up even though I'm eating healthy. But, I'm due for another thyroid check, so maybe that's causing problems. Have to wait and see for right now and try not to worry about it too much. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I'm still doing really well. I baked a birthday cake last night (from scratch) and didn't lick or taste anything. My husband was quality control. It smells wonderful and I'm proud that I managed that little task without a ding. |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Doing OK. I have actually sterilized my diet even further. I am now having problems trying to consume 2000 - 2400 calories a day, composed of 60% protein, 20% Carbs & 20% Fats. It was real interesting to find out that even my clean diet was 60+% carbs. I have stopped looking at weight and now look at % Body Fat. Seems to be a more realistic way of dealing with body composition. |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Well as of 1/23 I'm down 8.5, but I did have my first ding in a month on 1/28. I ate a piece of Derby pie ala mode, before my wife and I saw Wicked. She wanted desert after dinner it was for her birthday so I agreed. I had no guilt at all because it was for my lovely wife. It's been a rough week, I don't know if Mrs. Custer got caught up in the ice storm that hit Kentucky Tuesday night, but we did. I started the end of last week with a pretty good cold so I decided to give myself a break from training. Then the storm, on top of that we had tickets to Wicked on Wed. night, the mayor and Gov. declared a state of emergency and the ahole's from the broadway production would not refund or exchange our tickets. So we went anyway, took the kids from our cold house to my parents cold house so we could go, it was a good show , but hard to enjoy when your home has no electricity. Sorry about the rant I'll get back on the wagon training wise on Monday. Hey I'm still losing weight, after I ate the pie I thought I was going to stroke out from the sugar shock. Oh the electricity came on yesterday, but their are alot of poor souls suffering in the state. Say a prayer for them, its been really hard especially for folks in the western part of the state where whole counties have no water, electricity, or phone. custer - 2009-01-30 10:54 AM KathyG - 2009-01-29 7:28 AM How's everyone doing? I don't think that counts as a ding. Don't you get that as part of the birthday exception? Do we need a ruling? The birthday exception shouldn't just be for cake because not everyone likes cake (I don't much), but I (and probably everyone else) really likes pie a la mode, although I don't really know what Derby pie is. |

Regular ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() hi all.....I think I'm out....we have been snowed in and the kids have been out of school all week....I lost control. I had hot chocolate, sun chips, and a sample of gormet choc covered pretzels at the grocery store. We finally got out of the house tonight for my birthday and I had chips/salsa and then Graeter's Ice Cream....so, I am out of the challlege ( I'd probably have to create another line on the spreadsheet for all my dings!!). But, I'm hovering around a 5 lb loss... will try to keep chugging along and will record my weight at the end of Feb if that's ok with you guys!? |

This is gray area, which ther is lots of. You can count it as a birthday exception, so long as you aren't in the running for the prize. If you're in contention for the prize, then we need to get a ruling from three other people in the contest, Yay or Nay. |

I haven't gone to eating protein powder yet. The only carbs I am eating is a bowel fo raisin bran in the morning. No bread, rice or pasta. I am getting carbs in the other foods I'm eating. I can post a snapshot of my diet if there is interest. |

I walked by the cinnabon counter while at the mall and while it smelled good the thought of sugar shock made the decision to stay away very easy. It may smell good but knowing how my body would respond now is a clear indicator how bad all that sugar is. Edited by jezzieswims 2009-02-03 10:45 AM |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I had a funny dream last night that I accidentally drank Diet Pepsi and was pretty upset as I didn't intend to drink it. If any of you watch Biggest Loser, I ordered one of those armbands that calculate how many calories you burn. There are two options Body Bugg which is more expensive and the one I ordered called GoWear fit Lifestyle. I track my calories in but it is hard to estimate calories out. The way I do the math I probably should be losing weight faster than I am as I'm working out most days 2+ hours and eating 1750-1900 calories a day. I am pleased my weight is pretty steadily moving down but don't we all want it to go faster? I'll be curious how it will work and if it will help. One nutritionist I met with a few years ago suggested moving more. My husband is what I'd consider a wiggler in that he can't sit still. Sitting he taps his leg and normally watches TV standing up; talks on the phone standing and pacing. Doing that type of little things can really add up to calories out in a day. What's up with all of you....you all are being awful quiet.

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Down 10 pounds to 182 in 45 days. I think this will have to be a year round challenge for me, I'm having to much success not to. I have tons of temptations around the house and no desire to indulge. For me it's to simple of a plan don't eat any sugar or junk food. I'm not spending time worried about counting calories, points, etc. I eat a pretty big meal when I go out, and don't feel bad about it, because I know I have cut out the bad of the bad food. I caught a blurb on TV about mercury in high fructose corn syrup, anybody see it. I hope everyone is having a great week. ![]() |

Back on the bandwagon. My week of actually cooking dinner did me a WORLD of good. |

It's amazing how much of a difference that makes. I've been cooking since Saturday and I dropped two pounds. I don't think it's all real weight, I'm sure there is water weight in there, too. Eating out seems to have so much more sodium than you need. I've also gotten back into the habit of packing my lunch every night for work the next day. If I make a little extra for dinner, I have an easy healthy lunch for work. I like it. |
