Master 7712 Orlando | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty MAD MANATEES Part 2 -- Full Pod Tripopo - 2012-06-02 10:18 AM OK so I need know what would the POD do. I have been saving up for a tri bike, my plan was to have around 1300-1400 saved by the end of the year. Right now I have about 800 and on our budget I get my "fun" money in two weeks, usually used for clothes/gear/anything that is just for "me" basically. and between that and a couple of off duty jobs I could have about 1300 in two weeks. It would mean not leaving the house for a month or so besides to work and the anniversary is the beginning of July.
The trek store near me has a 2011 speed concept 2.5 in my size reduced to 1550 right now, I get a 10% discount, so right around 1400. My buddy who works there thinks the owner will go down to 1300 if I bring in the cash for him to see. Should I try for it or wait an extra month and hope it is still around and reduced a bit more? That seems like a crazy good price. My local Trek dealer has the same bike on sale for $1650. If it were me, I'd get it now; of course often my impulse control leaves a lot to be desired |

Master 4452 | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty MAD MANATEES Part 2 -- Full Pod And then there's me, who would wait as long as possible to see if I could get it cheaper. But then I am cheap . If you know someone at the shop, could you get them to give you a heads up if someone comes in interested? Running the risk that they'll snap it up I guess. Let me know what you are going to do, because I am in the same boat with a wetsuit... |

Here's what I did last night: I was the frog....well, technically in this picture, I was Gossamer (the orange thing), and it was Halloween, but last night I was the frog--its Gus our zoo mascot. I was lucky enough to work a great event; taking photos, walking around, and dancing with many children. One of the other reasons I enjoy my job--where else could I be a giant frog? Tonight's fun is an OWS--FINALLY! The tatt has healed, time to hit the water!
Good luck to all this weekend's racing manatees!!!!! |

Veteran 940 Citrus Heights, CA | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty MAD MANATEES Part 2 -- Full Pod Thanks! The Gossamer suit I actually designed/made --one of my other occasional hobbies is making costumes for Halloween mainly, but other occasions as well--Last year it was Finn's hat for my friend and "Jake" from the Adventure Time cartoon--Kids absolutely thought we were awesome...we just like the show...But I have also made an otter and crocodile suit as well; next plan is to make a "Sweetums" suit--the big ogre character on the Muppets--one of my favorites! |

I am generally as cheap as the day is long, however when something is right, it is RIGHT. You have the money for a bike. They are reducing the price on an AWESOME bike. And it is in your size!?! Can you say fate? Is there anything else you would need, like pedals, seat, etc? If so, that might be cutting the funds a bit close. Otherwise, I think I'd be inclined to pull the trigger, especially if you can cash him out and save another $100. |

Master 6595 Rio Rancho, NM | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty MAD MANATEES Part 2 -- Full Pod Kirk, the tight budget makes it tough, but if an item is something I know I am going to buy in the near future I will usually take advantage of a good sales price. I find if i wait, it disappears. Full disclosure though, I am racing on a tri-bike that I got on Craigs list for $350 because I can't bring myself to spend the $ for a new one for a "hobby". Well I went for one more OWS before my race. I cut 6 minutes off of a .4 mile swim from Monday to today! I think it was all sighting and not freaking out at breathing out under water when I first got started this time. I feel much more confident about my OLY swim now. Going to go get my shopping done pretty quick here so I can come home and watch Jo and Macca rock Cairns! GO JO! |

Good luck to all this weekend's racing manatees!!!!! Sounds like you had a fun time. It's also obvious that you don't live in Florida - otherwise you'd be dead trying to wear that costume in the heat and humidity! |

I was in the ER Thursday morning for an asthma attack plus the whole family has colds. Not a great situation. On the plus side, this time prednisone is making me too sick to EAT ALL THE THINGS! and the baby being sick means she wants to take lots of naps - preferably with mommy or daddy.
I'm like the lamest person in our group. Someday I might be a runner again. |
