Hah, hah, hah...BC just beat VA Tech - scored 14 pts in the last couple of minutes to win 14-10...that helps out UVA big time...

(really, this was just one more shameless post to pad my numbers...and bump TAN back up the ladder...)

night all...

Hey, stranger!

Morning, all.  No sore throat, but the stuffiness is killer.

Here is today's interesting site

Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

Awesome site. I can't believe people are such wankers to him. I wouldn't necessarily call him "average guy off the street", though. I think his docu is going to be very interesting.

I love the old coach saying by 2050 50% of the population will be too fat to walk.

Oh, I'm certain he has a certain level of innate talent, to be sure.  From reading others who have seen him run, he has decent form, and he's got that thing you can't train: heart.  He trains a lot, and he's willing to push through physical barriers.  I give the guy a heck of a lot of credit.

It's inspirational to see someone like that, and to realize that dedication and good training really do work.

So, do you think he'll qualify?

Not sure.  When you're sitting on the cusp like that, it's really hard to make a good prediction, partly because there's so many factors that go into having a really good race, which is what he'll need to make it.

Don't think his times would get him a qualifying spot on the US team.  Not sure what the UK team looks like.

Looking forward to next weekend's olympic trials at NYC

I THINK he needs around a 2:15 or 2:20, somewhere in that range.

HI TAN!  I have some great news.

Ok, so the other week I was talking about how excited I was about dropping down to 176 in the weight department and that I was looking forward to my health screen.  Well it was this week and man am I floored at the results.

First, my blood pressure stayed exactly the same but I have a feeling that it might be because of stress this week and it has been a stressful week.  I'll have to double check it again sometime soon when I'm not so stressed.  But compared to a year ago, I have gone from 19% body fat to 8%, I have lost 2 inches around my neck and 7.5 inches around my mid section.  But the change that is most dramatic is my cholesterol.  I went from 228 last year, which is in the moderate risk category to 173 this year.  I lost a whopping 55 points off my cholesterol in a year!!!!!  I'm so excited I don't know what to do.  And it is so important for me too because high BP and Cholesterol run in the family.

And then to top it all off, the Fire won last night in an ugly match (4 yellow cards and 41 fouls total) but they won.  Now all they have to do is tie DC United when they go to DC next week and they are onto the next round.

FIII-UURRRE

FIII-UURRRE

FIURE, FIURE, FII-UURRRE

LOHLOH LOHLOHLOH, LOHLOH LOHLOHLOH, LOHLOH LOOH LOOH LOOOH LOH LOOOOOH!

And THANK GOD IT IS FRIDAY!
