OK

Sorry David.  I realized right after I posted it that someone might be grossed out.

Me too. I was being a smart---. Then I saw the pic and got worried. I checked your log. It does not look too bad.
Enough about this, carry on with race talk.

That is actually a wound from last night where I was changing chains on my chainsaw and ripped my finger open.  Tonight I was lifting a log and ripped off the bandaid and reopended the wound.  It's a small cut but very deep.

16 weeks from tomorrow, a bit of panic is setting in for me as I am nowwhere near where I wanted to be at this point. How quickly winter crept into spring and now summer is looming and I need a good kick in the arse.

How is everyone else feeling?

I have been fighting a weird pain in the back of my right knee. My massage therapist seems to think it is from very tight quads. I am taking a few days (Sat & Sun) to rest and stretch the heck out of my quads. I see my massage therapist again on Monday and hopefully I will be back on track. The truth is I am more concerned about the NE Regional Age Group Championships on June 7 than I am about IMKY at this point.

I'm feeling really good. I'm looking forward to some longer rides. I reread a few RR last night. I think the heat is going to be a real factor for me on the run. It really did alot of people in last year.

I hope you get some good news on Tuesday. The Dr. may be my next stop if my knee pain doesn't go away.

Looks like I might be taking today off. Mothers Day and all I thought maybe a training free day would be nice for the wife. Unfortunately yesterday was also a training free day due to being up all night at the fire house. Oh well I'll hit it hard tomorrow!

I went to Louisville over the weekend and rode the entire course. 90 miles on Saturday, and another 24 on Sunday. We hit the new section of the course, and it's not as bad as it looks - but it will drain a little more energy than last year

I feel better on the hills than I was last year the first time I tried the course. My friends who never did it before said the course was very tiring and worse than they thought (probably because I've been telling them all year that the hills weren't THAT bad).

Now I'm really EXCITED!!!!! 16 weeks!

Well my body finally said enough had along couple of weeks of 18 + hours each really going at it hard!  Did a 4.5 hour brick on Saturday. Woke up Sunday to get in a long bike ride  was out for about 30 minutes turned around and went home and sat on the couch body said enough was enough!  Hardest thing in the world is listening to your body for me anyways!  I would love to do a dry run on the bike course but at 11 hours driving jsut do not see it worth the trip I woudl miss out on to much training!    What is the wind like on average down in Kentucky!

Which part is the new section of the bike course Maura? And what did it replace? Thanks!

Just the turn onto Wolf Pen Branch Road is new. It was supposed to happen in 08, but they kept the original course. The Harrod's Creek Bridge is closed to all traffic, so the course is going up Wolf Pen Branch to 42. It adds one more steep climb near the beginning of the course, and a long steady climb at the end. Here is a link to talk about it last year:
http://beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid...

There are also some Heather Gollnick videos on youtube that show her riding the new section.

Can't believe it is getting so close. My plan starts to ramp up a little starting soon. Thanks for the report on the course. It helps to hear about what is on the way. Keep up the good work everyone.
