He simply stopped breathing. I am glad I made it to see him before he died, and I think he recognized me. Even if we couldn't have a proper goodbye. We're leaving for the hospital in a few minutes; view the body and then it will be cremated. He will be buried in the Veteran's Cemetery here in Des Moines. Thank you for your support. Its weird... I've known for years that this day was coming. I'm just kind of numb right now. i saw this on FB this morning. you and your mom were prepared for this, and this is far better for him than in and out of the hospital, better than requiring support just to live, it is hard to say goodbye to loved ones, but you will be able to lean on each other and remember what good things he brought to your lives and celebrate that. you guys are in my prayers today. |
